I’m happy my only requirement for the season was that the wings finished ahead of the sens. For next year the wings have to make and they need to be a team in the first round that pll don’t assume are just going to to get crushed, they need to be in the playoffs and a dangerous 1st round team.
Successful season, looking forward to next year’s team with 3 to 5 young draftees that can make a big difference.
I had the Wings making 100 pts, and Lyon being the starter at end off season. They finished with 98 and Lyon....we are in next year baby.....please stay Mr.Kane!!!!!!!

Looking at their cap, next year could be a step back - after paying Raymond and Seider they will likely lose Kane, Ghost, possibly Sprong, Perron... Would love to see them Keep Ghost and Kane, especially Kane - maybe they can swing something who knows - I think they could replace Ghost, Sprong and Perron with promoting from within but Kane - not so much.
I can see Perron taking a pay cut. I think resigning Ghost is important. I don't see anyone in the organization who can replace Ghosts numbers. I could be wrong, but I don't see Edvinsson putting up those numbers, not yet anyway. He looks like he lacks confidence. Sprong is interesting, I think we could replace him from within. But I think getting Ghost back or someone like him is very important. Perron is at an age where I think he'd be willing to take a pay cut. I also believe we have the capital to make a trade. Kane? I think it's 50/50 it doesn't look good. He did say he wanted longer terms. He's 35yrs old, so I'm guessing he would take 3yrs. But I think he's going to ask between 5-6.5million, depending on the team. I think depending on the team he'd be willing to take less money. He's a hard guy to gauge, he keeps his cards close to the vest.
If it was one collapse I would be inclined to hear that the season was a success but they fell down three separate times during the season and that can't be classified as anything other than a failure.
Hurts bad, but I hope Kane stays and next season we start with an insane drive. Ray has won me over big time and I’m excited. Still hurts though. I look back at that San Jose game, then it hurts more. It was a massive collapse. A TON of it is on Fester. The Caps are cringe and have no business in playoffs.
Some might say that a loss to BUF between not one but TWO losses to Arizona justify the Wings having no business in the playoffs.
They should of player in Dec like They played the last week of the season. They played a little to late. More consistency next year!
@@Torgo1969Losing those games is embarrassing. I wonder if Steve and Uncle fester are on the same page? Because Steve is a big team defense guy. I mean back in the 1990's Bowman threatened to trade him if he didn't start playing two way hockey. It pissed him off pretty good lol. But guess what? It worked, we started to win in the playoffs and eventually won Cups. Our team defense is atrocious, it's gross just watching. It looks like 1980's Dead Wings. Where they would score 7 goals and lose by 2. Seider and Larkin are the only ones who plays D. Seider shouldn't have to block 200 shots a season, But he does. Our forecheck is embarrassing, our back checking is embarrassing. Our d-man can't clear out the front of the net, except Seider. I expect Edvinsson to be alot better next season, he better be.
@@Detwhat I feel pretty crushed this week because of those easy points that they left behind with that nonsense last month. One of those games goes into OT and they make the playoffs. But we still salute Razor for playing with fire and heart in the final games, ditto for Ghost with that leaping keep-in the other day against MTL.
They need to sign someone to play on Lanes line that can bring out his best. The Cat is better with Larkin and Raymond. Kane leaves if he dosn t get better linemates. He said in end of season interview it depends on who he's gonna be p!aying with.

Im ok with this season. But next year if they do not make it i will be very very concerned
I think if Yzerman were to make a bigger trade it would be for a 1/2C if one even becomes available. That would allow us to have a back up to Larkin or have Larkin move to 2C. I don't know that Kasper or Danielson will ever be able to fulfill that slot yet, but barring a trade I think we might see one of them up... Cossa is too close to go out and trade for a goalie. With Edvinsson up the only move on Defense would be to buyout/ trade Holl and possibly bring back Gostisbehere and sign a right D FA depth piece. Petry can easily fill the roll of a 7th D if possible.
I think the right move would be to sign a 3c give him 5M and hope he can step up and play 2c
