This video failed to address the fact that the estuary’s watershed is 60-70% in Mexico where it collects fertilizer and sewage waste before entering the estuary. Also the reason it can’t be drained as someone suggested is because this is the largest undisturbed wetland left in California and the bird species there can’t just “move”, it’s an ecosystem. Plus it provides irrigation on the US side as well.

The San Diego river which runs through Mission Valley in San Diego is inundated with sewage and communicable disease including Hepatitis A from the numerous homeless encampments along it’s course.

Same issue with the "New River" in Imperial County... the water flows through Mexicali and brings all kinds of sewage and diseases as it enters into the United States.

this problem is making all of us in san diego sick. i can smell the disgusting toxic sewage from san ysidro-->imperial beach-->eastlke--> point loma. Produce in grocery stores smell like it. most food in local grocery stores smell like the stench! San Diego is rotting because of this problem. so thank you Voice of San Diego or brinng attention to the issue. we are unfortunately victims of international pollution of the river, only because it happens to pass through a city that choses to dump its waste on to our oceans/land and make us sick from it. if you live in any of the listed areas you KNOW what i am talking about. The kids in our neighborhood havent been out because the air has been toxic almost 20hrs/day! smell your local grocery stores and check your produce like onions, eggs and such. i wish everyone be safe from this and run as far away as possible from it so you are not victims of it. please keep your families safe and buy a hepa air flter as we did. hopeflly we can fix this problem, we deserve clean air, this is ridiculous.

Yeah dude I spent the last 8 years in IB/Chula Vista area, the produce doesn’t stink and the kids are still playing outside last I checked 😂😂
I know we have a serious environmental problem down at the border but it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be.

The Tijuana River Valley is a wildlife preserve. No where near being a National Park. There is no wildlife.

Mexico needs to take accountability for being a failure are almost everything and the U.S need to take responsibility for not keeping Mexico accountable.
