      the first doctor was bloody awful, i was going to put in a complaint once i found out that i was pregnant but i also couldn't be bothered / didn't want to waste my time / didn't want the pregnancy to seem negative etc. but honestly, he really did screw me over, i could have been making much healthier choices for myself and the baby from month 2 x

    I can relate I’m currently going through the same thing! We always know our bodies and we’re so correct. Just because the doctors have been educated it shouldn’t make them so closed minded to unusual occurrences. It’s called a Stealth pregnancy/ Cyptic Pregnancy.

    That first dr was so crap omg, I’m in shock.
    I can totally remember you talking on twitter about being like tired and vitamin/iron deficient and stuff.
    I’m so sorry you had such a time! What an ordeal oh my gosh, I can totally understand why you felt overwhelmed when you first found out.
    I’m so impressed with how well you seem to have taken such a big shock in your stride!

    You should report these doctors! At the very least the first one. Who knows how many other women may benefit from it in the future if they happen to find themselves in the same situation.
    I fully understand your disappointment and uncertainty in the way you found out and the unexpectedness of it all! I’m so happy that things have worked out, though, and that things are going so well, despite the unexpected circumstances! ❤️

      we tried to report it and it didn't work, the surgery didn't care and sided with the doctor saying he did the right thing and couldn't have done anything more. lol! i don't mind too much though, like what's done is done i suppose x

    I’m going through the same thing right now and the doctors keep saying it’s your body getting back to normal. Even though I’ve taken test that we’re faded but with them it was a negative. I would ask them for a ultrasound but the only way they do it is if my pregnancy was confirmed.so I’m going through the same thing body change and nauseous and heartburn was the first thing.

    wow. it's really shitty that doctors rely on pregnancy tests so much that they won't even perform a check-up themselves even though you clearly had pregnancy symptoms (no period, nausea, low iron? classic!). I understand the tests work on almost everyone but the doctors could still have done an ultrasound just to make sure. I'm sorry you had to find out like that, but at the same time I'm so happy for you both that you look forward to having this baby.

    • @originalgabbo
      @originalgabbo Před 6 lety

    • @YasminJohal
      @YasminJohal  Před 6 lety +2

      no worries, it doesn't sound too negative. i completely agree! i love our nhs and i'm so grateful for not having to pay much for health care, but god it bloody shows sometimes with the lack of care and attention you actually get when you're in need. blood pregnancy tests are often more accurate than urine ones i believe, so they should've done one of those on me, ideally. pretty sure it would've shown up then.
      the last doctor, the one who took the positive pregnancy test and felt my tummy etc, had also scheduled me in for an ultrasound, but that was to check my ovaries out i believe, not whether or not i was pregnant. either way, big old shambles. thank you though! x

    I'm also five months, but i prayed long and hard for this baby, but a lot of people would say on the surface it's not ideal bc the father and i are not married and will never be married so i had relatives tell me i'm going to hell, like what are you talking about, allah swt gave me this baby and i've been tested for it longer and harder than anyone else on the planet and i'm chosen to be his mother bc of who i am and the love i have in my heart and the understanding i have of life because of the quran, i was so scared to tell my dad and he did freak out at first bc he loves me and saw things on the surface like money and marriage, but i finally opened up to him about my feelings and now we're closer than ever and i don't have to do anything to make him happy any longer, so long as i pray and make god happy, the love around me is just growing and growing, hamdulillah, i can't believe it, after all this time being told i couldn't have children, every prayer i feel him kick when i say subhanerabilallah, and i mean it from my soul, we love each other so much

    • @YasminJohal
      @YasminJohal  Před 6 lety

      oh my gosh! very similar sounding symptoms. i would advise getting a pregnancy test at your doctors, via blood test if possible? sometimes it doesn't show up on urine tests but i think it's a lot more reliable using blood tests so maybe try that. or just generally go to your doctors and see if there's anything they can do x

    When I was pregnant with my 1st daughter. I suspected I was pregnant. I went to a doctor for a pregnancy test and all she did was feel my stomach and said I wasn't pregnant!! And prescribed me a pill to get my period. I went home and told my best friend that I wasn't pregnant. She's like "no you are pregnant"! So we went to another doctor and he did an actual pregnancy test and it came out positive! Imagine if I would have taken that pill! My daughter wouldn't be here! This was 22 years ago.

      I went in to the obgyn and was actually trying to get pregnant. I had horribly irregular periods. I had gone 4 months without a period and still tested negative. They put me on meds to force my period to start, planning to start Clomid after a cycle. And it STILL didn't start and I tested positive at that point. They assured me at that point that the meds they had me on wouldn't affect the baby.

    Did you not have a bump?

    • @YasminJohal
      @YasminJohal  Před 4 lety +1

      kind of - I was a size 16 at the time so already was fairly chubby, my tummy had changed shape slightly but not necessarily gotten bigger. it was only once I found out I was pregnant that I could kinda see the bump. but around 6 months pregnant was when my bump started growing properly and FAST

    First of all Congratulations ❣️
    Second of all, everything happens for a reason, the baby was not ready to be revealed in any way, only you knew and felt it. Now you know and confirmed it. Enjoy it, everything will work out as is supposed to. 👏🎉

    Did you gain a bunch of weight? Stay the same? So confused.

    • @YasminJohal
      @YasminJohal  Před 5 lety +3

      nope by the end of the pregnancy i has only gained the equivalent of remy’s weight, whereas a lot of women gain tons of extra weight too. my bump was all baby basically. so i gained 10lbs and lost it immediately after i gave birth

    Awww that is an awful way to find out! I hate that you were dismissed....you know your body best and Drs should try to listen more to patients and work with them in coming up with a Diagnosis.

      i very much agree! even if i wasn't pregnant, they should have tried to figure out what was wrong with me instead of just acting like i was an inconvenience x

    • @elizabethmorrison3895
      @elizabethmorrison3895 Před 6 lety +1

      Yasmin Johal they say that because first morning urine is less diluted. Other times of the day the urine can be diluted and not give a proper test. But that's only really acceptable or reasonable if you are like 4 weeks along and don't have much hcg(Pregnancy hormone) in your body. At 5 months along and a viable child within you, you should have enough hcg in your body to test any time of the day and get a positive whether it's diluted or not.
