I love that chandelier! Even if you didn't use it as a light, if you took the light part out, it would make a beautiful display piece placed over a pretty statue or other art piece that you wanted to protect.

I have the entire collection of those Byer carolers. I inherited them from my former mother-in-law. I absolutely love them! They have been a staple in my Christmas decor for over 20 years. ❤

I love that fur hat! Here in Chicago, both women and men still wear hats in the winter and vintage hats are popular for a night out even if you're dressed casually in jeans and boots. Black or brown are common but that auburn color would be special!
The wooden expandable book shelf would be gorgeous in a vintage kitchen for cookbooks.

You can sell it on Facebook market place for local pickup. If you have a large dinning room/table I would put it in the middle as a centerpiece

I purchased a similar light but already had a massive chandelier in the foyer. Wondered around the house and found a matching table - reduced the wattage in the bulbs - now it's in the corner of our parlor as an stunning accent piece.
The Crate and Barrel nesting bowls on WorthPoint were by Zak Designs and there were 6 total, yours is missing the tiny blue bowl. There is one recent comp from 5/22 on eBay for $34.99. Hope this helps. I absolutely love your content!!!❤

Our goodwill no longer gives a senior discount, NONE. I checked online for the chandelier, and though I didn’t find an exact match, and I didn’t look at sold items, I’m confident you will be pleased. Good luck. Yes, we wore gloves in the 60s. I had a pillbox hat that I wore to church on Sunday in the 1960s as well.

Hi Karen, the amberina bowl is most probably Jordan Imports. They imported in the 50/60's Italian glass, some of which they designed themselves. Love your channel.!

The chandelier is beautiful and would make a tada in a house with a big entrance area.
Granny’s upside down basket is likely that way to provide a mobile platform to create the scene, with the gingerbread house and tree, allowing them to be lifted and moved together, after creation. When our kids were little we’d do similar creations on a bread board or cookie sheet, for the same reason.
The bowls that were pulled were ones that had bamboo fibers in them. I had some pulled by eBay.

Hi Karen, Byers Choice is on 309 in Chalfont north of the Goodwill in Montgomeryville. I have taken damaged carolers back to them for repair at no cost and free return shipping. Things may have changed lately but it's worth asking.

The glass is Jordan Imports, they imported Murano, great find you should be able to sell it for far more than $40!
I don’t care for the dolls it’s not my thing, but I’ll tell you what the one reason I watch this channel is I learn so much. I know what to look out for it and let me tell you if I find any of those dolls they’re going in my cart.
Oh Karen that chandelier is amazing it looks French I look some up and they go well over the $2000 mark but if you had a Louis it would be way over the 20,000 but still a great pick up for what you paid for it. Worth way more than a lot of them because it has five lights in it and it’s hexagon.
I ordered shelves from Seville at your comments. I am so glad to get 60" wide shelves. Love the wheels! I have 48" and not all bins fit well on them. Thank you for your YT. I think it is an advantage to be older because we know "things" because of our experience. I saw someone trying to use a vintage typewriter and phone and not know how they worked. Love the chandelier, too! My mother had us dress up in dresses for us girls and nice slacks and shirt for my brothers when we went downtown shopping in Seattle, where we lived when I was a child. She always wore gloves when we went out--white cotton in the summer, dressy organdy in the evening for dinner with our family and either wool or cotton black in the winter. When we wore dress shoes--always nylons with garter belt. We loved it when panty hose were created!

I would repaint the light. Use a silver "mirroring" paint on the glass and make it look like mercury glass. Repaint the rest of the metal a silver tone. Rewire for battery operated OR plugin at the bottom. Buy bulbs that flicker - and use it as a floor piece. Outdoors! Front porch! Gorgeous!

I love the Chandelier and that was an awesome score. Goodwill Senior Day was 30% in Indianapolis previously but they discontinued ALL discounts. The prices went up and there are no more discounts. I can no longer afford to shop there. Thanks for sharing your haul.

My parents had a light just like that hanging over a side table in their family room in Camp Hill, PA.
My dad sold lighting fixtures to specialty lighting stores, new this light was very expensive. Check to see if it has markings like it has gold finish. They moved from their house 10 years ago. I wonder if this was from their former house?🤔

I use the expandable bookshelves in my craft room tomhold craft supplies, dies, stamp sets, etc. Always on the lookout for them.

The only thing I know about melamine is you shouldn’t microwave it. I have a few confetti melamine Texas Ware mixing bowls that I cherish and I always hand wash (never wash in the dishwasher…even top shelf), and never use them in the microwave. Somewhere I read if microwaving melamine it would give off a chemical reaction that would possibly make it non-food safe? They never have the warning labels on the old stuff LOL
