    I think it's great the kind of stuff you guys do there... It put me to shame what I know about these kind of cars compared to what you know... For example I ordered an rebuilt motor core from Mazda auto recycling in CA I think, this was about 12 years ago. I had a foreign car shop here in Sioux Falls put in the motor... They couldn't get it started, I had to get running myself... At the time the pulsation damper was bad which caused the previous motor to go bad by washing out the motor with fuel... Once I replaced that it work great, over a $100 part. Before that I had to disconnect electrically the fuel from the rear of the car... The car be was a major pain in the ASS, I got rid of it... I envy people that have the patience for these cars... I am still waiting for the RX-9 to come out...

So was just wondering, if you were to run a quad rotor N/A with 12A rotors and housings (24A) and wanted to have a Liberty Pro-Stock Z-style transmission for a drag application. Would the FD auto rear plate and bell housing still be the preferred set-up? Thank you in advance.

    Awesome build... definitely a really cool rare engine. You talk about the studing a lot and it got me thinking I own that tool that you're using and I only use it to remove studs. intake manifold exhaust manifold studs etc ( most vehicles use an E-socket for installation of the new stud)... because when you go to reinstall them you leave marks indented into the threads and I was thinking about it. if you're using that and then trying to get an accurate torque how does that work? that's why you have to tap the tool off after loosing it is because it's clamping onto the threads and distorting them. I agree with everything you talked about far as your stud kit... just not to use of that tool. I think it's kind of funny that you're right about everything that you talked about far as your stud kit but you're ruining the studs threads. I could even see the little lines from the tool on a couple of the studs. FYI that's why ARP studs have an allen built into the top of the stud cuz the only other way to do it would be the way you're doing it but it would ruin the threats.

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  Před 5 lety +1

      In fact it is not the same as what you are referring to. Its just for installation ..we dont torque with it. Our latest studs to have the allen drive

    Interesting video! I'm curious, how come you put locktight on the ARP nuts instead of ARP's own assembly lubricant? Does the nuts have a higher risk of loosening up than for example the nuts to a cylinderhead on a piston engine?

    • @rx7specialties203
      @rx7specialties203  Před 5 lety +2

      ARP nut are not crush nuts. Vibration can aallow them to back off. We apply lube to the other end.

    I really enjoy your videos. I've never used a rotary engine. Way back when rotary engines were new they gained a negative reputation for fuel consumption, burning oil and lasting very long. From your videos, I see that these things can be attributed to the badly designed apex seals.
    I plan to use a 3 rotor turbocharged engine made especially with aviation in mind. Constant speeds and way better-designed apex seals. I have a question. Mazda designed the older engines to burn 4 stroke oil from the crankcase. But now people speak of using a mix of 2 stoke oil in remove the oil metering device and using the ashless 2 stroke oil. 4 stroke oil, for some reason especially in aviation engines, 4 stroke oil leaves significant metallic deposits. I think something to do with the synthetic attribute of the engine. Using a pure non-synthetic oil like Briggs & Stratton 2 cycle oil is inexpensive and burns without leaving ash.
    So is mixing with a good ashless, non-synthetic oil the better way for the longer-lasting rotary engines. I asked one of your website people and he just told me when he uses and says I should use it too. This phenomenon of burning leaving a lot of metallic ash was noted using aviation engines. Would you please tell me what you would use so your engine should get better lubrication of the apex seals and fuel burns clean, leaving little to no deposits?
    I had a stroke 18 years ago and used to be comfortable doing my own mechanics including regular maintenance and engine rebuilds. Now I have to build trust with mechanics before I have them do work on my car. I'll need an entire engine since I have none. How much gph should I expect cruising with my newly rebuilt rotary engine? About how much hp should I get out of 3 rotors and double turbocharged engine? Thanks !!! I'm sorry I don't know your name.

    Hello, I do enjoy your videos. I need an engine, 3 rotors, dual turbo rotary engine to be used for an aviation engine. I know some govt entities haven't certified rotaries, but there are many happy owners of aircraft that has a rotary engine. My plane weighs about 2,500 lbs empty. I need an engine that has the extra things done to it like you always make. If you have any suggestions as to what services you think would be needed in an aircraft engine. I won't be pushing it hard except takeoffs and will have a reduction gear so I don't have to rev the engine all the time. Can you give me some suggestions on what you think you'll need to do to put this engine together?

      Hi , I'm going to try to explain you that sinse I had the same question over 20 years ago when I first watch in person a rebuild of one 13b before rebuild my own 12a , if you noticed theres no timing marks on this engine for assembly reference , soo no matter what position you put the rotor , when you install the excentric shaft with the rotor engaged on the stationary gear it automatically gets syncronized or you can say timmed , soo is like you just cant get it wrong because otherwise your engine parts wont fit at all , hope this answer your question without confusing you , that was a good question

      @BoogalooShrymp Před 5 lety

      I also wondered this!

    • @cstavro
      @cstavro Před 5 lety +1

      the rotors have to be clocked 180 degrees apart, which he eyeballs to start with. All three rotor tips touch the housing at the same time, so putting on the housing will further align them. The stationary gears (which are doweled) should bring them into proper alignment.
      A stud is better than a screw (which the stock fasteners are called). His stud kit works better because they act like dowels and keep everything from moving. You should call it a "shoulder stud kit".

    When you say a "first-generation car that was an original 12A vehicle"...I assume you mean an RX7? Or an RX4?

    • @petermavrenski6602
      @petermavrenski6602 Před 5 lety

      R100 Had the 10A, RX2, 3 had 12A, RX4, RX5 had the 13B because they were heavier vehicles., RX7 series1, 2 and 3 had the 12A, series 4 and 5 13B turbo RX8 Renesis from memory. I had an RX3 street port late 80's first car, then Brand new RX8 2006.

      @aussiebloke609 Před 5 lety

      @Asia Assist The RX4 came out with the 12A first, then changed to the 13B - as did the RX7 - so both could be said to have a "first generation" 12A. Which is why I asked the question.
