Amazing to see this vessel under sail again. I helped re-rig her in 1977-1978 in LA harbor at the Proctor and Gamble wharf. I lived aboard her for 3 years before she was moved to Dana Pt. I heard she sank at the dock there in 2020. Hope they refloated her and have saved her.
Well, ships and airplanes I know about. Reporters ALWAYS get things wrong on events in those categories. Makes me suspect, strongly, that they get much wrong in the fields I know little or nothing about, read politics (or caronavirus) for example. Things ain't much like the old days.
Yes, sadly. A couple of goofy reporters referred to the brig Pilgrim in post-sinking stories as a "schooner". Is it any wonder the news media can't get political stories right? Anyway, it's extremely sad to know that this ship is lost.
@@vgrof2315 Its very common for people to mistake ship classification. nautical terms is not something many people would know for old ship designs. So I wouldn't point this out as a example of can't get political stories right.

Dana would be laughing his butt off on how long you guys took to get her on her way.
Jesus can't help you but Cap'n Thompson can, he's your man!

Dana would have taken even longer... He would have had a crew of less than half our size.
And Dana didn't have diesel.
As of march 2020 she sank at her dock and is considered a loss.
