Started Trt at 34. I was clinically low, in the 300s. My primary care said it was normal. The trt clinic noted it was a normal level for a man in his 60s. Up around 1000, I feel soooooo much better. My wife and I are no longer just roommates. I’ve lost a ton of fat, packed on muscle, my cholesterol is great my blood pressure is great… 100% worth it for men who need it. I’m here for a good time not a long time. Half as long twice as bright… I’m not going back to the way I was no matter what.

I think another problem that isnt talked about as much in the main stream is just how much of an impact social media has had on boys.
Everyone talks about instagram filters, make up, cosmetic surgery making women insecure but the same thing is happening to men as well.
Getting in shape takes time and steroids, PED's, SARMS, all can help reduce that time and allow impatient kids get progress quickly.
If you are finishing up school or starting college/uni taking something like this to look good, feel good about yourself sounds like a no brainer because they arent looking at the long term cost if they feel shitty and insecure now and dont want to spend years correcting things.

As an internet layman, my limited reading on the topic is adding testosterone into your system is generally not a good idea. You want your system to produce more testosterone. If you add more to your system, your system attempts to balance that out by reducing production even more. Your hormone system doesn't just blindly produce hormones, it is a feedback system that balances hormones and just blindly adding some hormones into your system and throw off that balance.

    • @Rambleon444
      @Rambleon444 Před rokem +29

So true... I think the biggest risk, is once you are on it for a while you are hooked for life your body will cease to make testosterone permanently.
Plus these possible side effects- testosterone can cause dangerous or irreversible effects, such as enlarged breasts, small testicles, infertility, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, liver disease, bone growth problems, addiction, and mental effects such as aggression and violence.

Correct. Unless there's a clear medical reason to replace the hormone. There's no such thing as a free lunch. you can bypass such by inhibiting certain receptors via antagonist chemicals, e.g. enclomiphene citrate, that way you will get "your system to produce more testosterone", but nonetheless if we are talking about disorders like hypogonadisms, yeah, your system absolutely "just blindly" produces, or in this case, does not produce hormones, hence a call for treatment

I'm quite alarmed by the fact that you said that people are taking testosterone in pill form. As someone who has been prescribed testosterone by doctors since I was 14, my understanding has always been that testosterone is much too hard on the liver to be taken orally, which is why it's only given in injection or topical form (or nasal spray as you mentioned, but from what I've seen, nasal spray can't produce high enough testosterone levels to be used as a treatment for hypogonadism). I suppose pill meds are usually cheaper than gel meds from what I've seen, so I suppose if these young men aren't getting it prescribed and are just buying their testosterone, pills might be cheapest. But I would be very concerned about the effect on the liver if you are taking oral testosterone over an extended period of time.

I first tested my T levels when I was 35 because I had all of the symptoms of low t, and my total T tested at 65, which is well below normal levels for men of any age (400-600 is considered healthiest), 65 is slightly high for a woman. I was anemic, i had high blood sugar and cholesterol, i was in the army in my youth and struggled to pass fitness tests despite exercising a ton, i suffered from low self esteem, depression, difficulty focusing. Men like me with hypogonadism can expect to live 20 years less than men with healthy T levels. Fortunately I have been able to have kids, tho not without difficulty. Since I started on T therapy my quality of life has improved bigly. I get it for free thru the VA as it's a medical need, not cuz I'm trying to get jacked (i don't even lift, Bro...)

i know right. i'm very fortunate that i have normal junk, i'm tall and i have a deep voice, i sang bass in hs choir, so nothing seemed too abnormal. even now with my T levels at about 600 i can't grow a mustache, so i think i just don't produce much body hair even with good T levels.
i think for someone like me T is a medical necessity esp later in middle since it's so vital for men's health, with levels at 65 you can't attribute that to factors such as spending time raising kids (yeah, raising kids lowers your T, makes you more feminine i guess lol), excess weight, sleep apnea (which i have) or diet, people with moderately low levels can raise them fix them with supplements, life style changes etc without steroid treatments, as those can mess with your ability to have kids. fortunately I've had kids already.
i recommend working with your primary care, and having kids, before going to these juice dealerships that have been popping up, they're super expensive and yeah can rob young men of fatherhood. my T levels were so low i had anemia due to low red blood cells count, pre diabetic blood sugar levels and high lipid levels, those are now within normal ranges.

As I have high testosterone, I do not take the hormone. However, as a heart patient (artificial mitral valve) and approaching 50, my GP prescribed a low level statin as my LDL cholesterol levels are the high level of ok, as a precaution as my heart and local arteries have to be ready for additional surgeries. Surprisingly, I saw a noted drop of almost 4% in my T level.
On that same note, my (atoptive) father has never taken cholesterol build-up medication and now in his late 70's has better than normal T levels.
Statins, like any chemical corrector, have side effects, and one major issues is the depression of T production. Men on the NORMAL scale may see a drop that has poor effects on sexual traits, increasing weight, etc. First suggestion is ALWAYS ALL and find a solution that fixes the issues rather than making new ones.

Over the next four years, 208 of these men got married, and 162 of those had children. In 2009, Chris’s team again measured the men’s T levels. As in the United States, men’s testosterone gradually declined with age. But, as Figure 8.3 illustrates, the rate of decline was dependent upon what happened to the men in the intervening years. T levels plummeted among those who both got married and had children, while they declined the least among those who remained single. Notably, the men who were initially highest in testosterone were also the most likely to get married-that is, higher testosterone in 2005 predicted success in the competition for mates in the ensuing four years." I have been thinking about this for a while as I feel that perhaps my testosterone levels have been steadily dropping over the past couple decades--I have concerns that have kept me from raising this concern to my primary care physician. However, I am hesitant to address it. I am an elementary school teacher, a nurturer--the last thing I want to feel are the sort of my aggressive, bold, harsh emotions that I felt as a teenager nor do I want my voice to ever become deeper (I naturally speak at a softer yet higher pitch than I did at 18, 18 years ago). I honestly like how I feel more balanced between the whole gender binary thing instead of being sharply skewed toward masculinity. I have no interest in taking estrogen but, I really don't care to be or feel more masculine which is my primary concern about taking a testosterone supplement.

Posted this in an other comment, but i guess it fits here too so
Testosterone causes permanent Voice changes to females it gets deeper, loses that unique melodic frequency, while the reversed cannot be done so no Estrogene will make a Mans voice a Females, in fact the female voice is determined by a mix of various hormones (Forgot what hormones but Fair warning, looking it up from google will not give you the right answers, it's not simply estrogen and it's done between the ages of 11-14 ) so testosterone for females under natural circumstances don't play a role but when it does it's considered a permanent damage. Better muscle potential but also body hair, clitoris growth (As i understand it this happens anyway if the individual is sexually active or permanently horny)
The most interesting to me in that research was a bit unrelated to all of this, it went into it from a musical stand point, how a females voice is still more melodical even on the deepest natural voice of a female (Contralto) then the most melodical Male voice type, the research used a man blindfolded listening to both man and female voices, it turns out our brain picks up the female voice better, we can recreate the face inside our head just from the voice alone because the female voice is naturally richer because of it's frequency (and many more bullshit detail that i can't remember) basically it contains much more information. This explained why i'm always looking up the female singing covers not the male ones lol..
The study i read was a all around research, showing the changes thru out the ages from young to old, with some more interesting bits like the above. It shows that Testosterone is a powerful hormone and it leaves visible, hearable, permanent changes while the reversed is not possible to achieve. You only increase it naturally, such as weight lifting induces that increase. Testosterone is a hammer, a females body in terms of overall complexity in comparison to a mans is like a fine tuned instrument. The hammer does the work but it grinds the fine instrument into a mute piece of wood, if what you want is a mute piece of wood to hit people with no ones stopping you, there are many dedicated female weight lifters who inject themselves but you should know the cost cause it costs. I never heard of a Female testosterone stigma because it's usually called steroid.
(Edit: don't want to scare any Girls from Working out, i recommend working out exactly because it can only increase it to healthy levels, it won't turn you into a hairy gorilla with big muscles and such lol, just know that this worry is just a worry and it isn't real ! The issue begins when you medically add the stuff..)

Guy in my early 20’s here. Had no motivation or drive to do anything. Felt a bit depressed and just apathetic. Got my testosterone checked at a TRT clinic twice in the morning, fasted, and I was absolutely shocked. 330 and 350 were the testosterone levels, which is low. Now, some will point to the massive “normal” range, of 300-1000, but this is such a vast range. Additionally, the guidelines should be age specific. My testosterone should be compared to other men in their late teens to early 20’s, not to men in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s or 70’s. The university of Michigan recently released a paper about rethinking the testosterone level guidelines, and they said that absolute cutoff for a man between 20-24 should be 409, which I was under twice. So it’s not like being on testosterone is something that completely goes against recent scientific opinion. Additionally, I think it’s laughable that had I gone to doctors, they probably would have had no problem prescribing me antidepressants, which are probably worse for you tbh, especially since the whole “chemical imbalance” in the brain theory is looking like it may not be completely accurate. I’d say testosterone is honestly safer, especially if you start at lower dosages and keep monitoring blood levels. There is also things to keep your testosterone production up, like HCG, which can also be used as a PCT.

I’ve suffered from low - almost no - testosterone for decades. My endocrinologist was alarmed when, at about age 30, my testosterone levels plummeted. I’ve been on replacement therapy ever since. Only this year did we discover a possible cause. I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer early this year. Many tests and scans followed, looking to see if my cancer had metastasized. An MRI of my head showed an abnormality with my pituitary gland. After further MRIs, it was determined that the abnormality wasn’t cancer, but rather a congenital deformity of my pituitary gland. According to my neurologist, my pituitary function was probably normal when I was young, but the abnormality continued to grow as I aged, causing my hormones to go wacky. My doctors *think* this may be why my body stopped producing testosterone.
The unfortunate part for me is that my testosterone levels are fully in the "normal" range, but I still have extreme fatigue and difficulty building muscle tissue. However, my body sometimes goes into overdrive on red blood cell production - a side effect of testosterone replacement therapy - and I’ll have to go for a blood-letting like it’s 1680. For real! I’ll have about one-and-a-half pints of blood drained from me. All because I rub testosterone gel on my arms every day…

Sleep apena is a spectrum, being a heavy snorer is being boardline. Cpap machines work so well that the people don't snore any more.
Obstructive sleep apena is common in bodybuilders. From being thick necked and heavy chest or testerone supplements- who knows

My dr had me start trt at 17 because I had low Ts and infertility issues she said that I needed to regulate my t levels in order for me to start a family in the future. I’m about to reach my 30s and want to start a family soon

My fiancee brought up an unusual question:
How would something like this affect trans men. For example, a still-in-the-closet trans man, possibly 16-18 years old, is afraid of coming out, and doesn't want to see a doctor about hormone replacement therapy, what would be the risks of them trying to use this instead?

2:14 It doesn’t prove that binary is not real. Every law in nature has outliers. It just proves that anomalies are possible, but uncommon.

Men....whatever you do, don't go to a urologist for testosterone. They still read the 1960's text books and you won't get more than 100mg per week. I was at a 434 on that dose after 6 weeks, and they still refused to increase my dose all the while I still had low T symptoms. A men's clinic is much more educated when it comes to our needs. I take 160 mg per week, and I feel amazing with good overall bio markers in blood labs.

Next week: Estrogen! Great video btw, I was wondering how it might affect people. Was surprised that other basic things weren't mentioned but it'd make the video much longer. Baldness as well as a decreased life expectancy are other factors in Testosterone overall so I'm not sure if it doesn't change with more. Looking forward to the Estrogen side if you do it
