Finding RARE IRIDESCENT QUARTZ at Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine in Arkansas | Digging Guide Episode 8

- Today’s video takes us to Sweet Surrender Crystal Mine In the Ouachita Mountains near Story, Arkansas. This location offers dig-your-own-quartz at their mine site. You get to work through tailings material in the quest of finding these gems.
Join Dominik as he finds many beautiful clear quartz crystal clusters and clear quartz crystal points during a tailings and pocket dig. The crystals from this mine are known for heavy oxidation and mineralization. The best find of the day exhibits an amazing iridescent rainbow luster and crystallizations of hematite. The colors of the crystals here are very beautiful and rich. This quartz deposit is in a shale zone which makes this mine a unique digging experience.

Great video, Dominik! I have been to Sweet Surrender a couple of times, and have always enjoyed my time there. I still have quite a few pieces still from that location. Some really, really nice stuff. I actually like a lot of the iron staining on some of the pieces, as I think it gives them more character. You don't really get that as much from some of the other mines. Plus, another thing I like about Sweet Surrender, is that you can have the place practically to yourself sometimes. It's nice and quiet, and very peaceful.

@@brandygordon1205 yes, Sweet Surrender Mine is open to the public, and I believe it is still $25 per adult for the day.
