SailGP is sailing redefined. Established in 2018 and headquartered in London and San Francisco, SailGP is an annual, global sports championship featuring bold, cutting-edge technology and awe-inspiring athleticism. The fan-centric, inshore racing takes place in some of the most iconic harbors around the globe and culminates with a $1 million winner-takes-all match race. Rival national teams from Australia, China, France, Great Britain, Japan and the United States battle it out in identical supercharged F50 catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 50 knots (nearly 60 mph).

Great racing supported by knowledgable commentators, useful graphics and camera position combinations.

Used to be I'd mute and watch while playing an audio book or something calm and interesting. Now it seems appropriate to watch, muted as always, and crank Carmina Burana, Wm. Tell Ov., Superman! - edge of your seat sort of music.

Commentator at mark 1 in the recap of the second race "45 knots (...) more than 90 km/h".
Not so fast. You have to sail at 49 knots to hit 90 km/h....

A chaque virement de bord les Français perdent 150m, ça se voit dans toutes les régates... pourquoi ils ne font rien pour arranger ça?

has anyone edited this series to get rid of the 2 hrs of BS interviews and commentary so we can just see the boats racing, like the race commentary but hate the gale-force wind of talk between the races!

@TriplePlay yeah I am of the opinion they are downplaying the tech of the boats and focus on small talk about sailing, they have decided to try and make hero's of the boat'smen so as to pump the value therin, but the truth is the boats are packed with tech and they could easily replace those grinders with AC motors but that would loose viewer interest and I do agree with that.

IMO ... if the boat does not touch the water but hovers over it without contact with the water it is more flying than sailing. These are not sailors at all ... the rules are flown away a long time ago for this sport!!!
