Sitting here thinking, almost every time you bring out a palette, "Oh my goodness, that was from this year??". And then I remember I only got into makeup October 2020, so pretty much all the makeup I own is from 2021. This year has felt like forever. It's also wild to think there are more than this many releases a year, just of eyeshadow palettes. I can definitely understand why so many people feel a need to buy buy buy.
Anyways, love your videos! The way you do them is always fun.

I totally understand you putting Roaring Hearts by Colourpop so low for you, but for me it's super high up, it's like my dream neutral palette! This is why I love videos like this, it's so fun to see what other people think of things, especially if we disagree because then I get to know why! Hope you have a wonderful 2022 with lots of very exciting and loved makeup
Oh my goodnessss Colourpop and Beauty Bay really stepped their games up this year! I'm also obsessed with the Tinkerbell, High Tide, Orchid You Not, and Lush Life palettes from CP and the Age of Opulence and Wilderness from BB! Melt blew me away with the Amor y Mariposas palette and I was so happy with my first Give Me Glow palette - the Bad Witch Club - and both Blend Bunny palettes! This was truly a year of stunning palette releases for me! I also bought nearly every Linda Hallberg palette and that has to be one of my all-around fave brands at this point.
I tried 21 of the palettes you tried and 3 of the original palettes that Alter Ego duped out. My favorite surprise palette was the ND Gold palette that I bought right before it disappeared. I also loved Limoncello, Lush Life, Nomad Iceland, Oden’s Eye Cat’s Breath, and Blend Bunny + Surge along with Beauty Bay’s Wilderness and Age of Opulence. Thanks for the great video!
I think kaleidos had strong palette released this years ♥️ My top 5 palettes of the years would be : 5th place makeup revolution upstairs downstairs palette (collab with the corpse bride ) 4th place Natasha Denona Circo loco 3rd place melt mariposa second place kaleidos flower punk and first place kaleidos club nebula !

I knew the Bad Witch Club and Surge palette would be in your top 5! I ordered the Juicy Olive palette and I’m very keen to try GMG
GMG Is soooo good. I've got the vintage rose I don't need the Christmas Morning palette or the purple one but ugh! Also their singles are AMAZING. I'm not a matte eyeshadow girl at all but THEIR MATTES are REALLY good!!! Ohh and the shimmers are really really good too
I just ordered that and Christmas morning. And I already want bad witch club and vivid rose.

This year I love my 2 new Glamlite palletes: Dirty Martini and chocolate. Love my Haunted Europe and National Parks by Nomad. Love Alien Cosmetics Not Normal, Fall Magic, and All I Ever Wanted. Beauty Bay Opulence pallete. Those are just a few..❤

This was a great video to watch! I just received a few new (or just new to me) palettes that i am so excited to play with: The Beauty Bay Age of Opulence and Wilderness palettes, and two from Melt: the Blueprint and Smoke Sessions palettes. I have not dipped into the melt palettes yet, but the BB ones have been so fun to play with, especially during the holidays.
I thoroughly loved your palette ranking video! There’s some new and older palettes I’d love to try. There’s also some brands I’d love to try as well!

I’m pretty sure the Nomad holiday palette is just a rearranged version of the shimmer side of the Shanghai palette. I’m guessing it was a way for them to get use out of them after they had to pull the Shanghai palette from market. I think it’s kind of a good idea because I remember thinking what a bummer it was that everyone who didn’t grab that palette before it was discontinued was missing out on the really beautiful Nomad shimmers in Shanghai & it’s also a great way to not have all of that product go to waste!
I don't know if you have the time, but if you could make a playlist with all your ranking videos that would be awesome, because I love watching these.

My favorite palette of the year is club nebula. Now I want all of kaleidos palettes.

Idk how anyone is able to rank some of these. My ranking would be a pyramid, with section #1 being at the base 😅 Also, age of opulence is the perfect palette for brown eyes imo, and I too have never met a melt palette I didn't like! I just purchased the large december box. Kinda hope millenial pinx is in it. My 10 year old daughter wanted me to tell you that you are her favorite youtuber and she is learning a lot from you. Every time she sees you, whether it is in a full on look or more natural in your vlogs, she just says, "omg how is betty jean so beautiful" 🥺 she probably doesn't want me to tell you that part, but I think it is cute lol. I hear her pretending to do makeup tutorials in her room while practicing things she's learned from you! Just wanted you to know you are having a positive impact on a little girl and her self confidence as well as her developing artistry!

@@agirlyhasnoname girl I got so excited as soon as I saw it and was like "gotta have it!!!" All of the promo pix were STUNNING! I know some people have a problem with either the mattes or shimmers with the besuty bay formula but I think it all performs beautifully. I go from dark to light with the mattes and they just melt together. Also thanks, I was worried that sharing that about her came across as creepy lol but I also feel like when someone has a positive impact, they deserve to know!

Late to seeing this but I definitely called some of your top 5 😂 I’m really wanting to try that Geologie Pilbara palette, and the wilderness beauty bay one. They look gorgeous! I didn’t get a ton of new makeup this year (until the very end lmao) but I’m loving my she’s in parties, limoncello, and big poppy palettes! Also 🍜 because I’m having ramen right now and it’s delicious 😂

This will pain me but my least favourite palette this year was the flower punk, the shimmers almost made me reconsider but I didn’t like that two of the greens looked exactly the same on my eyes, and that the soft pink shade would blend to nothing on me, and it was just demanding too much from me, however much I enjoyed it (because I honestly did), I was disappointed that there were three duds in such a small colour story; on the other hand my favourite palette was the Hummingbird from Oden’s eye, because even the really pale blue shows up good on me, and the shimmers are many and all of them are sooooo good. At this point I’m in the part where you talk about the You’re golden palette, I’ll comment again when I reach the #1 palette 😝.
Oh my god, hahaha if anything my comment and your video show that makeup definitely is one of those “different strokes for different folks” right? I got impatient and fast forwarded (will comeback for the full scope later) and it’s really funny but also true that makeup is not going to fit everyone the same 😝
I agree! I had a very similar experience unfortunately… the dark green matte was the worst shadow I’ve tried in years, it would not blend, it would not build and it would lift the shadow beneath. Just awful, I truly believe I got a bad palette or something

@@CarolinaaCarv yeah! And it was patchy too 😭 it may have been a dud but considering how long it’d all take for a return I considered it was not worth it (also, I don’t know Kaleidos’ return policies).
Great video - also love that you were so efficient. So many people did long reviews for their ranking videos and it felt so unnecessary. This was perfect.
Also do you modify the color balance in editing? It feels like the warmth is off compared to the true coloring of the palettes- seems super cool.
Can you also do a ranking indie brands formulation video?!
I didn’t change anything, it all looks true to me! Could be the screen you’re viewing it on. & maybe! I have a hard time ranking formulas specifically.
I predicted everything in your top 10 (a lot of it are my top faves of the year aswell) 😃
That Aether Beauty Moonlight palette gives me Elsa belting "Show Yourself" on a glacier vibes and I low-key almost need it for that reason ❄️✨
I would also argue that with the Oden's Eye Judy palette you could get very spring like looks, bc it also has these lighter peachy and green tones in it. 😊
🍕🍕🍕 Great ranking video, so many amazing palettes! 🤩🤩🤩 I saw so many favorites of mine, too: Norns, Urd, Flower Punk, Age of Opulence, Limoncello, Lush Life, Haunted Europe, Eternal Eclipse, Mary Jane...My top 5 of the year outside of palettes you ranked are Wild Python by Huda, Cytrynada and Niebieski2020 both from Glamshop, Passion in Paris by BH and Flair Remixed by It's Bel. 🤩🤩🤩
what I have taken away from this video is that colourpop put out far too many sub par pallettes, maybe if they put more effort into their creativity, instead of mass producing the same old stuff, people wouldn't be sick of them . Just my opiniom of course. very informative video, thankyou
SAY IT AGAIN. LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK. This year they went from being my favorite brand or one of them to just mehhh. I don't bother to keep up with them anymore.
I enjoy the orange shimmer in the electric mood palette but I haven't tried any other shadows in it lol.
I was wondering about the Wine and Only palette once you mentioned the Orchid one and so I went back and looked for your review …. I’m so behind I didn’t realize how long ago that palette was released. 2020 and this year just meshed together in my mind 😂 so many releases!

I loved this ranking. My top 5 were probably Club Nebula, the Legendary Diversa palettes, and the Melt Mary Jane (I'm controversial too, lol).

I have pretty much all of your top palettes, my ranking order would be a little different but they are all soooo gooood. I think my top would be the Blend Bunny surge, the blends and then the bad witch palette, beauty bay palettes. 🍕🍕

There is a palette I love-It is from endangered species cosmetics. It is the red panda palette and money earned from the sale of this palette goes to help red pandas from extinction. They are sooooo cute!

Did you try annettes palette with menagerie? It’s pretty but I heard menageries formula isn’t the absolute best and it’s kind of a rainbow color story and I try to be a bit picky with what I buy so I wasn’t too sure about it. The wolves one is gorgeous though!
Watching these I'm just feeling like 💸 coming out my ears because I want them all!! Like another commenter I recently got into makeup during the panorama. So I'm torn between getting the ones I'm seeing on these wrap up 2021 videos I love or buy as new palettes come out?

Do you have any recommendations for a pigmented yellow & orange? I've tried quite a few and used a white base bit still not as vivid or bright (noticable)as I would like.
The blend bunny’s palettes have beautiful & pigmented oranges & yellows!
Pigmented yellow I'm a brown girl very warm toned...... the best yellows I've tried are from GMG shimmer and matte I highly recommend their single Going Bananas.
They've also got some good oranges also surprisingly I've had good luck with the oranges and Neutral leaning yellows in BEAUTY BAY pallets as well as Juvias place but Give Me GLOW and Sydney Grace top them both. For a base I use the JP either white #1 base or the #2 if I use oranges as my neutrals. Good luck I hope this comment helps.
Have you tried the break the rules palette from its bel cosmetics? I heard such good reviews and I just ordered it! I’d love to hear your thoughts :)
Another one, I understand why you got rid of Shadow Kiss, but it's my personal favorite cool toned neutral palette, and is why I was able to get rid of all my other cool toned neutral palettes. But then again, I think I like the Alter Ego formula more than you do, which is fine! Just interesting!
If I didn’t already have other cool tones palettes I enjoyed I 100% would’ve kept it! & I enjoy alter egos formula a lot ☺️
