  • After the tire train had been replaced, the power wheelchair began to suffer from the Shimmy effect.
    This is the effect where the directional wheels start to wobble like crazy, and it can become dangerous.
    The problem was probably already there, but it emerged with the excellent grip provided by the new tires.
    We were told to lower the tire pressure to increase the contact surface. We tried with 2.7, 2.0, 1.5, and 1.0 ber but didn't fix the problem.
    Finally, we got a tip that worked.
    Tighten the pivot rod screws inside the forks.
    - Remove the cap on top of the fork;
    - Get a 6mm hexagonal key;
    - Then tighten the screw, not too much, to leave enough freedom for the wheel to follow the movement direction.
    Thanks to those who helped, and we hope this can be helpful to others who encounter the same issue.
