This was my favorite multiplayer game on the DS. From map glitches to gameplay mechanics, especially the time period it was in! People used to use the power beam in Combat Hall to shoot messages on the blank wall to share friend codes. There were crazy wall/out of map glitches and secrets that characters had. Trace could live through an omega cannon blast in its presence if he stayed invisible in triskelion form. You could punish people who went out the map with an imperialist (the red sniper laser) by aiming down its sights. When the reticle hyper focused on someone hiding behind the wall, the laser would go through the wall, in most cases, when you shot it. (Get wrecked cheaters.) If you used the judicator’s freeze ability with Noxus, there was also a term called ‘shadow freezing’. You aimed at the ground while charging the freezing shot, aiming at the ground towards the direction of a player. No matter how far away they were, if you aimed right, you could freeze people from far away. There’s just so much, yet so little you’d find online about it. I wish they’d remaster this masterpiece for handhelds or even other consoles, possibly make it a runnable game on a software like Dolphin. (Like how people run smash bros. Melee on their computer.) Heart-Achingly Nostalgic.
My favorite was playing the prime hunter game mode, playing anybody but Weavil, but then using his cannon. You still have the faster shooting speed because you're not Weavil, but you get his affinity bonus of more damage and EXPLOSIONS! SO MANY EXPLOSIONS!!! It was so op but I've never seen anybody else use it.
I remember playing this game with mates via wireless play and owing them . It's a really well thought out and put together game. I've not played a better shooter on a mobile platform honestly. I used to love sniping my mates with the sniper (I think it's the red beam) oh good old days. They need to re release this game in HD with better graphics and larger multiplayer capability. There just isn't a solid first person shooter on the 3DS atm. The PSvita has the kill zone mercenary and it shits on any shooter on 3ds
this speedrun is so absurd and yet i love it. theres a new thing that baffles me around every corner, from clipping into a wall, decimating an arena fight with just morph ball boosting, bomb jumping through a boss, and even rocket jumping. this entire run perfectly encapsulates what i love about TAS runs, and also kinda shows what i didnt know about this game, despite playing and adoring it an unhealthy amount.
It may not be the best experience for Metroid for a DS, but it's sure as hell better than Federation Force. I'm glad I'm able to cherish what I had back then. ☺
Two things that always bothered me about this game is that when you are in outer space and looking at the planets, the sun on the map/bottom screen is not aligned with the real sun/top screen, and the other thing is that there is an unused oribital. But godamn, you just broke this game beyond belief.
I remember I would bring my Nintendo DS and Hunters to so e summer day care thing when I was 7 and play this game against all my friends there. It looked so high quality at the time but wow it looks low rez by today's standards. How the times have changed. Still one of my favorite Metroid games, though
now you see why the Game Corner was closed in Pokemon. it was too op. it's so fun seeing this game ripped apart after suffering through it and completely understanding the game.
This was a TAS so it was recorded on emulator using the built in AVI/WAV recording options. You can also find DS hardmods out there that will modify DSes for screen capture.
Bad ending? BAD ENDING?!?! I can't believe this shit this is some serious shit I've waited my whole life for this TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) to be finished and this is how it ends a glorious shitfest of disappointment absolutely unbelievable nobody cares about the bad ending WHERE IS THE CLOSURE?!?! I wasted so many years waiting for this moment and you completely ruined it for me all of my dreams sacrificed dropped out of college quit my job and left my family behind me all in the hopes of one day seeing the treasure of my favorite video game Metroid Prime Hunters (For the Nintendo DS™) completed in the fastest! possible time! nobody can beat it faster this is the absolute the alpha and omega of speed completed in the most perfect way possible with the good ending but now there is only sadness and so we move on
Huh. So in this version of events, Spire, Sylux, Noxus and Trace got the coordinates mixed up and ended up on the other side of the galaxy. Or we just skipped past them without them noticing.
I can't believe I ended up watching the whole video. There was just something about it that made me continue. I think the speedrun is good and I am simply amazed by it, and that you have completed the game at least four times (I assume). Though, there was just this one thing that kept annnoying me. The fact that you didn't pick up every single missile expansion (or whatever they were called) and the energy tanks, and avoided faraway places to get them.
The glitch where you keep moving for a tiny bit after collecting that artifact? I discovered that by just playing it. Collecting one by being in morph ball form and seeing what happens. Doesn't have to be that specific one. And I saw that it kept my momentum as it automatically had me stand up

One way to tell if this is emulated is the distortions at the planet selection screen.
There is also the fact that this is a TAS which means of course it's emulated
***** Of course. I was mainly talking about the quarks of emulation.

The second door is when the game actually loads the next room and pausing reduces the wait by a couple of frames each time
