    We have a 1927 Buick which was a fairly expensive car in 1927 at a little over $1200 however I really want to pick up a T just to have fun with and they seem like it would be cool to have a light car to enjoy.
    The ‘27 Buick is a 27/27 “Standard” that sat for around 30 years after the prev owner passed away and his widow kept it as he left it, parked in the garage untouched since his passing.
    His Widow really liked me so she wanted me to have it, I promised her I would never sell it. I am in the car business and while I don’t carry the make nor model car she likes however when she was in the market for a new car I saved her dealer from ripping her off by over $7600 MORE than what the new car should have cost her. She had purchased 20+ vehicles from him through the years and I guess he didn’t think she’d ever compare or second guess his pricing!! Well he got that wrong, she asked me to look over her buyers order prior to picking up the car she ordered and sure enough he was trying to gouge her!!! So that was a year and half prior to her selling us the ‘27 Buick so when it came time for her to sell it she basically gave it to me in my opinion with the promise again that I’d never sell it!!
    When I got it road worthy again and running she was the first to ride in it, she was overwhelmed!!
    But I do believe a T will be in my garage very soon.....then an A 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️😂😂

    I had a 1916: very similar. Glad to finally see a video where the correct way to drive a T is presented. There are several videos where the presenter doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

    One of my earliest memories is of standing on the floorboard of our Model A and looking out through the windshield. Loved it then (around 1948), and I love the view out the windshield now! Thank you for including that view. It made the video, for me.

    I love that you hold the clutch half-way, rather than fiddle with the brake handle like I've seem other people do. I did the same thing with a friend's 1913, and he was surprised, because he kept having for it so as not to stall. Practice. You have a good handle on this. Excellent video!

    great video and the one on the ruckstell too. I use my 1915 touring daily, . I prefer to put the contactkey upside down so it keeps away from my feet and it's easier to reach. Kind regards Blacksmith Filip Ponseele-Belgium

    i saw a video where a mechanic dismantled the car, i saw there was no shift stick where it is supposed to be so the pedals were the transmission

  • @jacksmith5692
    @jacksmith5692 Před rokem +1

    The brake is not like what we have today. The Model T doesn't have wheel brakes. The right pedal is a transmission brake.

    Thanks god that they didn't continue to use that disposition of controls in modern cars hahhahha! It's great for a little tour but man, using constantly your feet your hands and looking out for the mixture, the spark... man, it's a recipe for a disaster xD
