    Most underated player in the draft imo. Best of in Kansa by far and shows flashs of being a solid 3&D Wing. Would love him in Detroit as a great role player

      @FloorandCeiling  Před 5 měsíci +7

      I like McCullar as an NBA prospect, but I need to see another season or two hitting high marks from three before I fully accept the "3" of the 3&D. He's constantly been in the high 20s for most of his career, so I don't fully buy that there's been a huge leap in that area yet.
      I do think he's a really good defender, though, and I think he'll rev that up again in the NBA (like we saw in previous years at Texas Tech) when he starts playing with the ball in his hands less.

    Do I see a little Josh Hart here? If he has his soul he will succeed! And have a decent career...

    Sixers need him 😤

    • @FloorandCeiling
      @FloorandCeiling  Před 4 měsíci +3

      The way Daryl Morey has been speaking about the team’s goals, it would only make sense for the Sixers to draft a well-established multi-year college player.
      Kevin McCullar fits that and he’s in Philly’s theoretical range, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Sixers ended up with no significant draft picks this year at all through some sort of trade.

      Sure do I hope we do get him that’s what the mock drafts been saying lately too

    SPURS. if we're sending Keldon to ATL for Trae Young next season, we gotta get this guy. Not lazy on defense ✊

    • @FloorandCeiling
      @FloorandCeiling  Před 5 měsíci +3

      I think the Spurs would like McCullar, especially in a toned down offensive role that allows him to focus more on his defense as was the case in previous seasons.
      The only thing is that, as of now, the Spurs would draft at #3 which is too high. If this trade with Atlanta happens and San Antonio gets their #18 pick, that's more realistic imo.

    I see him a goog option for our Raptors Indiana pick. I think we should be able to pick him. We need 1v1 outside defense and if he continues to improve hes 3s, it would be amazing for our 2nd unit. He could be a really good sub for IQ. He can play like a 2n or 2rd ballhandler sort of Dysen Daniels (with more shooting). Another comparissons could be: Austin Reaves (with less 1 on 1), Josh Hart, Shaun Livingston

    He is a good player and does almost everything well: he doesn't shoot poorly, gets to the basket well, passes the ball pretty well and has a good defensive attitude.
    The problem is that he doesn't do anything very well and if you're not a star, you have to have some characteristic that sets you apart from the rest and McCullar doesn't have it.
    He's a solid player in almost every facet and I have no doubt he'll make a living at basketball, but I don't see much of a trajectory for him in the NBA.

    • @FloorandCeiling
      @FloorandCeiling  Před 6 měsíci +5

      I see McCullar as a pretty solid player and someone who makes sense between 20-30 in this draft, although I really do not see him as a lottery pick - even in a draft as open as this one.
      His three-pointer has improved, but it's only one year out of many, so I can't fully believe that there won't be a regression (not to below 30%, but maybe to 33-35%) at some point in the NBA. His passing is solid, but he also will never have the ball in his hands at the next level as much as he does this year at Kansas. Plus, like most college super-seniors, McCullar benefits from this being his fifth year in college.
      Still, I think he's gonna be a pretty good defender in the NBA. He was better in past college seasons with less of an offensive role and he'll be capable of guarding ballhandling wings, some point guards, and some 4s. He's also a decent enough decision maker, so I trust him to not make glaring mistakes. But at 23, the hope has to be that McCullar makes an impact fairly quickly and gets into a team's rotation almost immediately.
      A team like Phoenix (he'd be an instant rotation option), Miami (I see some similarities to Jaime Jaquez, though McCullar is a worse athlete and puts less pressure on the basket), Milwaukee (their roster is fairly open looking at next season), the Knicks, or maybe even OKC (if they trade away some of their young players as part of getting a bigger name) makes sense for McCullar imo.

      @@FloorandCeiling I agree, possibly his chances in the NBA have to do with the fact that he is a player with 5 years of training in the NCAA and that he can contribute things from minute 1.
