  • Noor stood before the Eigenstate Intrinsic Gate Array (EIGA).
A window-like obsidian-looking rectangle suspended in mid-air, appeared to just hover a foot above the green linoleum flooring. The gateway was new. Different than the entry point Piotr had passed through years before.
The same voice that guided Piotr now spoke to Noor.
“This assignment is simple, Ms. Banerjee. Find Mr. Andrysiak and bring him back or kill him along with any ‘copied’ individuals he might be surrounding himself with.”
Noor took both hands, while only halfway listening to the voice, and gauged the width of the entry point.
Without hesitation, left foot first, she stepped into the gateway and disappeared in a flash.
Two others preceded Noor and were waiting for her at a bus stop outside of the Stoneridge Shopping Mall in the simulated Dublin, CA. The duplication of this quadrant was a perpetually rainy Christmas season. The clouds are dark and heavy. The two others who await Noor at this particular entry point were known to her as X and Y.
X, aged 34, did work in South America assassinating political figures who couldn’t be bribed.
A surprisingly average-looking man, X was in his mid-thirties, balding, with light brown curly hair, a bit of an overbite, and slightly overweight. However, he exuded confidence, intelligence, and a keen sense of understanding his surroundings.
Y was the oldest of the trio. Originally a hostage negotiator; however, found himself working as an understudy for Donald Ewen Cameron, the man who undertook the Montreal Experiments.
The Montreal Experiments were a series of unethical and inhumane experiments conducted by Donald Ewen Cameron at McGill University between 1957 and 1964, funded by the CIA’s Project MKUltra, which aimed to erase patients’ thoughts and reprogram their minds using methods such as drug-induced sleep, electroshock therapy, sensory deprivation, and repetitive messages.
Y stood very tall; he was 6’6, sported a 1950s buzzcut, and always wore a suit. He had his briefcase at all times.
“Cheerio, you two.” Noor looked sad as she prepared to depart the trio.
X and Y just smiled and nodded. The trio had spent the last year working on a plan to find and kill Piotr Andrysiak. They’d become quite fond of each other.
X and Y were seasoned professionals. Noor was the young, fresh face who exuded talent and energy.
“You’ll find him, kid,” X finally said.
“We’ll see you back home, Z,” Y added.
The three walked in separate directions. Noor entered the Stonestown Shopping Mall to get out of the incessant rain and find an umbrella.
