    great job, i am doing similar project and just bought the same LED indicators, did you have to install resistors? what is the LED headlamp like?

      @pistolpeta  Před 3 lety +1

      Yep, had to do the same mod that Rabid Squirrel Garage did (czcams.com/video/aWp_vTJgFRM/video.html)
      If you dont, they'll blink way too fast and or all at the same time.
      The headlight works great (like $50 off amazon)

    What paint did you use before your 2k clear coat? And what brand of enamel paint was used on the engine?

    • @pistolpeta
      @pistolpeta  Před 3 lety +1

      [On fenders, tank, side panels, and wheels] - Primer, then Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating (HWP102 Graphite), then the 2K clear coat.
      [On motor and exhaust] - VHT Flame Proof Primer (SP100 Flat Gray Primer), then VHT Flame Proof (SP102 Flat Black).

    Hey, not sure if you will see this, but did you leave the rust in the tank or did you end up cleaning it out? I've got some in mine and was wondering if I should acetone it and clean it, or just leave it rusty and change the fuel filter every now and then?

    • @pistolpeta
      @pistolpeta  Před 4 měsíci

      The corrosion wasnt that bad/mainly superficial, so I just keep it covered in fuel and leave it be.
      I havent noticed a change in status since posting this video.

    • @pistolpeta
      @pistolpeta  Před 3 lety

      The ones pictured i got off ebay. I ended up swapping them for some clip ons/end mirrors : www.ebay.com/itm/274344042933

    former size of the capacity was 9.5L tank and now it's 9.1 l. so only lost a few hundred mL because of that dent caved in losing a little volume to hold fuel in.

    • @pistolpeta
      @pistolpeta  Před 2 lety

      True, and the repair still holds.
      FYI, The only thing that has changed since I uploaded this video is the paint on the engine/gearbox has come off due to my boot rubbing up against it when I shift gears.
      Other than that, still a great running bike. Took it out for its first run of the year since I put it up for the winter.
      I ran it until it hit I had to switch the petcock over to reserve then filled up the tank at the closest gas station. It took 1.66 Gallons/7.55Liters to fill it.
      Local gas price went from $3.69 to $4.29 overnight so riding a bike that gets 75+ MPG helps alot!
      Thanks for the comment and ride on brother!
