My parents emigrated to Canada in 1972. I saw how hard they worked. They cried for the loneliness and the hardship of work and being a foreigner in this cold land. For 10 years they kept saying, "just one more year and then we will all go home". My parents lived here for 50 years. They have passed away now. They never returned home again, except for visits. It's no joke to make your life here. Money is difficult to save because of the high cost of living. I think all these reasons can be summed up into one reason: unrealistic expectation. This is a good video and very informative. It's important to get the facts before you uproot yourself from your life to start again in another land. There is no place on earth that is perfect. We are 3 generations now here. No regrets.

Been in Canada with my kids since 2006. It was difficult the first few years. But I gotten used to the life here and I feel blessed living here. My children feel the same. Besides, I believe I am a better person now than before. I love my job and the people I work with. Simple lang ang buhay ko dito but I am loving every moment, even challenging times. I live in BC where the climate is much more favorable. I don't socialize much, even before coming here, which is why I enjoy moments of solitude. I agree with what was said in the video that if you expect too much from Canada, you might end up going back to the Philippines. When I came here I kept an open mind and learned about Canadian rules, culture, government systems etc. I never regretted coming to Canada and I continue to enjoy the life here. I can't ask for more.

Paradise

    • @Heartland29
      @Heartland29 Před 9 měsíci

I beg to differ, there’s no such thing as paradise on earth it was stated in Holy Bible. The paradise, is a place where people, lives freely, without any responsibility or worry such as money, health and safety. There are many reasons why Filipinos migrate overseas, usually to earn a living or to join families and relatives. Based on my experiences, living here in USA, it’s not about which countries that can offer you the best quality of life. It’s a matter of choice. I prefer my adopted country , the USA because I’ve the best time of my life here. What Philippines can offer, we all have it here in USA. Speaking of paradise, I live in Pensacola Florida, where the world’s top best white sand blue pristine emerald water beaches you could imagine. I haven’t explored most of the part of the countryside yet, but I’ve been camping to the deepest wood of America where crime is unheard. Yet, the weather is fairly the best. I don’t have to worry about my healthcare, if my pensions had come on time, where my banks electronically had paid all my bills etc. Nothing is perfect , but I don’t have to question financial entities, if anyone hacked into my account and my credit cards. Some may think it’s all about CONVENIENCE, maybe it is, but peace of mind and comfort money can’t buy, per se. Retirement in USA is not about how long you’ve work, it is how much you’ve contributed. My late husband didn’t just work for a living to provide for us, but enjoy the fruit of his labor. I’ve traveled overseas, and had met lots of hard working Filipinos overseas. They’ve commented, in the Philippines, basic needs not provided easily for those in need back home. Influence and corruption runs the country, there are many loopholes, mandated rules and regulations, endless stack piles of documents and endless requirements. Life in the Philippines is not easy, unless you’ve money to burn and keep it going. Some Filipinos quips, It’s much easier in the Philippines if the “do nothing” is the best option to avoid requirements. But you can’t earn a living without going through the eye of the needle. It’s just like you’ve been punished to get a job by going through those man made requirements mostly non work related. Just buying piece of property in the Philippines it takes so many paperwork, deal with different departments and then wait for months to process. But here in USA, buying piece of properties, either you pay it in cash or loan, the bank regulates everything and it’s tie into federal regulation. The bank process homeownership documents and the title agencies share those documents to all the branch departments. Just sit back and relax, if you paid in cash, your home title is mailed to you. Same also in buying cars, it only take an hour or so, to purchase one and you’re good to go with your car keys in hand. I’m not comparing apple and oranges, I merely pointing the difference about my life in USA, that the system it will greatly affect your everyday existence because it involved time, money efforts, peace of mind, comfort and peace. Paradise to me, is not the place where I was born and raised, culture and tradition, surrounded by friends and relatives, but it’s a place where I have peace of mind, comfort, lives freely.

A Canadian....let me advise you and all Filipinos contemplating moving to Canada...Canada is not what it was. The current leader is more corrupt than any politician you've experienced in the Philippines. Worse he admires the basic dictatorship of the Chinese government. That spells disaster for Canada and it's economy. He's driving the country to bankruptcy.....you would be better in Australia..closer to your family...and a whole lot warmer climate than Canada...for which Canadians are being taxed to poverty for heating their homes with natural gas. Until the current leader of Canada is voted out...and replaced...you take an enormous risk to quality of life as challenging as life can be in the Philippines. My advice for Filipinos is stay in the Philippines, demand less corruption from your politicians thru you vote( don'tbe misled by vote buying politicians) have smaller families( 2 to 3 children at most)_ get a good practical education and I believe the Philippines while thrive in the future compared to a country like Canada as it now exists.

FYI: One of the reasons why Pinoys go to Canada is because it's easier to go to Canada than the USA. However, job availability and wage comparison are more attractive in the U.S. It's not only Pinoys who are leaving Canada but more Canadians, I know since I processed work permits for Canadians before. If you like Canada, but hate the weather - go to Vancouver.

Ako si Boy Talavera and my family has been here in NZ since 2007.
D2 sa NZ ang lagi kong pinamamalaki is the health care.... libre lahat from consultation sa doctor, medical tests, medicine pati hospitalization.
Ang temp d2 sa Auckland ranges from 2 to 18 degs kapag winter at 18 to 28 degs kapag summer. Kung gusto maka experience ng snow we take a 4 hr drive to Mt Ruspehu.
Over the last 10 years grabe influx ng pinoy d2. Pero kung marami and dumadating na pinoy ganoon din kadami ang umaalis lalo na mga nurses and choose Australia kc nurses in Aussie earn twice as much... Kaya yong eldest namin and wife niya plus mga apo namin are there in Aussie.

I paid off my detach house and because of my huge fifty thousand dollars down payment, I don’t have any problem now because I don’t owe anybody.

I live in Canada with my family for 23 years, its hard to start a new life but later on its worth it, mas mainam pa rin kesa sa Pinas na its too hard to own a house.

    Congratulations Philippines 🇵🇭
Philippines on Track to Become One Trillion Dollar Economy by 2033
This will make the Philippines one of the largest emerging markets in the Asia-Pacific as well as a leading emerging market globally. Average annual GDP per person has also risen dramatically over the past two decades, from below USD 1,000 per person in 2000 to USD 3,500 by 2022 and is projected to rise above USD 6,000 per person by 2030.
Soon, Filipinos working abroad will go back home and enjoy a good happy life with the family. No more brain drain of the Philippines. Thanks be to God. God bless the Philippines and the Filipinos.

In my case friends here in Dubai are eager to move to Canada citing exactly the same reasons you pointed out here. But all of them needs to semote themselves and restart anew giving up any momentum they have gathered here. Para saken, cold restart, overrated medical and educ’l benefits, distance, floomy weather, lack of drinking buddies/neighborhood,racism are the reasons why Canada is abaolutely not for me

Hello kabayan! Thanks 🙏 for this great video.
I’ve been living in Canada since Oct 2, 2010. I have to admit it’s really a SUPER STRUGGLE.
It somewhat works for me now because I’m single & no kids. Also I save a lot.
Based on what I hear & read ( both Pinoys & non Pinoys), it’s really the SUPER HIGH COST of living & very high taxes.

I retired here in Canada with double job pensions fir both 30 yrs. Each. I sacrificed n sponsored also my family. I spend more than half of my life here in Toronto n got a hiyse in Barrie, my health n dental covered by my both job, now through my sacrifices It's worth for me now as a retiree with benefits. Yes, it's hard to live in Canada but remember we have to upgrade ourself through Canadian educational, afterwards, it's worth. So every winter, I'll stay in California n back to Canada during summer time. One way to another. There's nothing important to except you must have a plan n work on it. And you have a dream to reach n a goal to accomplished. That's me n enjoying my life now in Canada as well as California. As a Canadian you can stay to US in hot states n back again to Canada. Move up n live with it. This is Canada Eh!
