This is why I love the map No Rest for the Wicked, it's ALL bridges, they make excellent choke points that prevent any rushes even against brutal enemies. Same reason I love bridge maps in other RTS games, like in Company of Heroes 1, there's the map Leon (there's a modded version too with 3 of the 4 bridges already blown up!), blow up 3 of the 4 bridges you make the middle a choke point with a sniper, machine gunner (preferably the mobile one with armor piercing rounds), and anti-tank gun, enemies have a hard time getting through (although frustratingly they tend to use super weapons or zerg rush certain tanks...).
For me in Coh the Artillery is king on bridge maps.
@@Toffi yes, and demo charges for engineers! Some are indestructible however which is why it's good to have the 3 units I mentioned when artillery isn't active.

In RA2 Guardian GI are the best anti tank defense alongside regular deployed GIs.
Infantry like the Sniper or Seal can help rapidly level up an IFV
Groups of anti air infantry are a cheap way to mass anti air vs. kirovs and such.
Chrono legionaries can be placed inside battle fortresses alongside other infantry for a deadly shutdown unit that can win any 1vs1 against all but mind control units and some air.
Yuri initiates are amazing in large numbers vs. alot of things and are insane when garrisoned.
In RA3 the infantry only got better.
