- I adore madras and will quite happily try any version of it that's out there. Today, it's the turn of the Co-op...

Mad Ras and Rachmaninoff in 2 compartments. Dual pleasure on a need to know basis. Must try.
I have so much admiration for Rachmaninoff.
Good morning neighbour! Wow I didn’t want you to stop playing the piano. The curry had such a beautiful colour. I enjoy spicy. The rice looked nice and with that sauce yum. Little more heat would be nice. Nice tip to use lemon and salt to kick it up a notch. Harrietta and I are just getting day started. Coffee and time with our friend Papparoni, life is good.
Great to hear that life is good Jerri, have the best time with H and your friend :)
@@Papparoni it’s you you are my friend I am having coffee with 🤗
Nice one Papps. Like the piano interlude. Something in the bend of the tray after cooking I find a bit depressing. Ovs if I was proper hungry I'd love it!. Cheers 👍
Cheers Col, hope Rachmaninoff eased the tray bend :)
Almost at 5k subs now Papp, keep up the good work!
Cheers Dean, I can't quite believe it to be honest!
Oh how lovely, that curry loo ks I must say, that playing, is divine. Brilliant thanks ❤ my darling x x
You're more than welcome Miss Dream, indeed Rachmaninoff gave us something beautiful with that piece :)
Im honored sir pap , i saw the the thumbail and dared to dream ! I find it quite spicy but your educated pallet can handle a bigger punch on the spice scale , all in all a decent ruby i think compared to the other supermarket offerings 👍
It certainly is up there holding it's own Andrew, thanks for leading me to it :)
Cheers pap , god bless mate 👌
Good Afternoon Papparoni, that looked really good ! the sauce looked a delight and the Chicken looked good too ! another top notch review ! have a great afternoon mate :-)
Cheers buddy, worth a go :)
🎶🎹🎶✅✅✅
Top composition :)
oh yes, what an emotional piece of music ! Nicely played ! / Good grief - go back and check 2.44 on this video - that is a horse or camel?? !! It's got the nose, lips and eye for sure !! / Nice review as always ! Mark.
Fantastic spot mate, I reckon an earless horse! :D
Looks really nice for a supermarket curry. I like that the Co op use proper chicken and not that horrible rubbery brined chicken that is already pre-cooked then added to the sauces. I also like that they use meat from the UK. Puts me off sometimes when the meat is imported from far-flung corners of the world. Travelling such long distances. I will try this curry. Nice one Pappa 👍
Nay bother Emily, indeed it certainly is nice to not have to deal with bouncy chicken :)
🍛Good to get involved🍛
It has to be done!
Hi Papp.
So the Madras keep coming. How many is that you've reviewed now?
The next one's got to be a home cooked with a readymade Pilau rice for a mixed review.
This one had lovely colour and looked very enticing.
Do you think Rachmaninoff would have liked a Madras chicken curry 🤔
Cheers John 👍🤤😀
Fantastic YSA for me today.
400g tray of thin slice oyster blade steaks (6), $9.00 - $2.70 and a Coles finest 2 pack gourmet beef burgers $7.00 - $2.25
There were sausages galore and lamb shanks too, but I'm not in need of those.
Top YSA John. I think that is my seventeenth madras review, and I'd love to be able to ask Rachmaninoff is he liked them!
@@Papparoni I think we'll assume he would TTLNote 🎹🤤🎵
Seventeenth Madras review! Wow...
I know right!
Thanks
No problem
Always do the lemon trick, I add a pinch of aromat instead of the salt.
I sprinkle a teaspoon of garlic powder over the rice before heating it's a game changer to boring rice.
Like the garlic powder tip cheers Frankie, I'll see if I can find some..
I'd be madras not to pilau through that tasty dish paps 😊
Brilliant, wish I'd thought to say, 'pilau through this thing'!
@@Papparoni hahahaha
Looks 😍😋.. just had a Wetherspoon's madras curry lol 👍
Now that's one I have to try :D
@@Papparoni yes it was nice 👍
Bingo
That looked good but I will be calling there soon for there curry deal 2 mains 2 sides and 4 cans of drink £9 for members £10 for others looks a very good deal to me
It's a great deal Ladd, I'll look out for it myself...
All these chilled chicken curries taste more/less the same to me Pap, nevertheless at least I know what I can do to jazz them up a little the next time I get involved with one!
Oh yes Mr Atkinson, the lemon and salt thing really does help, even on the glorious Farmfoods signature one :)
I'm watching this in the early hours if the morning and I fancy a curry now 😂
Top stuff Ms Ms, I can't think of a time where I don't fancy curry!
I have tried these from various stores and they have all been good. If you were to cook and eat both, you are still quids in compared to a takeaway and they do vary a lot.
Quite right Uncle, if you haven't tried the Farmfoods Signature madras, I would suggest that you do, lovely thing :)
Curry or chilli con carne what's your favourite, for me it's a good hot spicy chille con carne with rice.
Hard choice mate, but madras has always been right up there for me :)
I sometimes eat these but i put it in a wrap with onion and lettuce it makes more of a meal if you know what i mean.
It sounds absolutely fabulous Ben.
Running skeleton in centre of Madras at 1:30💀. Wild boar's, bear's or tuna's head looking right at 2:33🐗🐻🐟. Angry alien👽, good spot, tho' I saw a cat's puckered a*se😼!
It should be a flogging offence not to season yer Ruby with a squeeze of lemon🍋☝️👍
I saw similar Jon but didn't want to say that I'd seen a tea towel holder!

Balloon knot!

Haaaaaaa!
I guess that this was the other half of the Co-op two for £6.00 offer then Papp?... With the same overall 7/10 score as yesterday's... It seems okay i suppose... But i don't think i'll make a special trip out to try them... I'm having Scampi tonight Papp... It was on offer the other day from Asda... So as i was having a delivery which came yesterday... I ordered a 400g bag of the Young's Scampi for £4.00... The price has gone back up to £4.50 literally overnight... So i got ithe Scampi at just the right time... I haven't had Scampi for quite a few years now mate... So i'm really looking forward to popping these in the Air Fryer a little later on this afternoon... 😋 Many thanks for the review Papp... All the best... Cheers mate. 🍺
Cheers Rick, indeed this was the other half of the deal. I'm wondering what a scampi sandwich would be like instead of a fish finger one.. :)
@@Papparoni After mentioning above about the Young's Scampi on here Papp... I just couldn't wait any longer mate... So into the Air Fryer they went... And once they had finished cooking... Straight into my belly they went... Oh man!.. I really enjoyed them Papp... I didn't know whether i was going to have them with Chips & Mushy Peas... Or with Mashed Potatoes & Parsley Sauce... But i really didn't want spoil the overall flavour of them... So i decided to have the whole 400g bag all on their own... Except for a splash of Salt & Vinegar... 😋Delicious mate... I think they would taste great in a Butty too my friend... A few slices of Bread & Butter packed with Scampi instead of Fish Fingers... Would taste better in my opinion... But when i buy a bag of Scampi again... I think i'll try it with Mashed Potatoes & Parsley Sauce next time Papp... 😋👍All the best... Cheers mate. 🍺
The whole bag, you trooper Rick! And I would've never thought to try parsley sauce with scampi, sounds delicious!
@@Papparoni Oh yeah Papp!... Parsley Sauce with Scampi is delicious mate... We used to have it with all kinds of Fish and Seafood... We used to buy the Kirkland Signature Tilapia Loins from Costco... And we would have them with Baby New Potatoes... Petit Pois Peas... And Parsley Sauce... We don't buy any of those fancy Parsley Sauce sachets either... We just use the tubs of Bisto Parsley Sauce Mix... Add several tablespoons of the powder mix to a small jug or mug and add hot water straight from the kettle... We like our Parsley Sauce nice and thick mate... So we add extra to get the consistency just right... You're definitely missing out Papp... Parsley Sauce with Fish is so good pal... 😋All the best... Cheers mate. 🍺
I really like the Co-Op curry selection. Mainly because the chicken actually tastes like chicken 🤣 delicate and tasty.
They are pricey though so I only get them every now and then or with a yellow sticker.
It has to be a good sign when the chicken tastes like chicken eh Zoe!
@@Papparoni 🤣 Well sometimes it’s too chewy 😭🤣🤣
I know the stuff you're on about! :)
Hi asdas essentials chicken curry and rice more rice than chicken curry but at 85p it's not that bad
One of the best prices around Adrian :)
Just had this today it was nice 👍
Great to hear Sarah :)
@@Papparoni 👍
Those are quite spicy, the jalfrezi isnt quite as hot.
I'll try the jalfrezi eventually Christian, nice things usually.
Dont think ive had a frozen curry that even slightly resembled whats on the label lol. They can still be nice tho and that sounded good papp. Im just working my way through the indi grand range from home bargains and the 1st one we had last night was good. Six more to go.
I know the sauces that you refer to jay, only used one in a review though, feel free to see... :)

These £3, 50p meals don't look much different to the pound ones in Iceland 😋
I know what you mean Malcolm :)
Better than some restaurants. Just annoying you can't get it on its own as don't eat much rice. Prefer nan or roti!
I prefer the ones where it's just curry as well Kiran :)
