Now the problem here is that you guys revive each other IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBAT.
This game is pretty much indistinguishable from BF1 because they filled BF1 with automatic weapons instead of the much more common on a WW1 battlefield bolt actions. And because it's in all other ways not much more than a reskin...
i dont think thats a huge issue, the games visuals are the same yes as was the case between BF3 and BF4, as both games use the same engine and have similar asthetics so they will looks pretty close to normal people, however if you actually play the game you will feel the changes, most important change to me is the shooting, battlefield 1 was pure RNG but in BFV it works and feels the same as BF3/4 which is awesome its pretty much the best parts of the battlefield games mergred into one,

Fair point. But I'm still salty about the unrealistic amount of automatic weapons in BF1. The horses were kinda cool though.

ThaBadayuss Actually, they reworked a lot of underlying mechanics so it plays more like BF3/BF4.
it seems the same on the surface but a lot of stuff has been changed and it plays very differently to BF1

Well considering they filled BF1 with primarily interwar / early WW2 equipment, such as weapons that were not widely used until WW2 like the BAR and submachine guns, and they made aerial combat feel as if we're in Spitfires and BF109's, I don't see how this game is any different to BF1. Same mechanics, same fighting style, same aerial combat.
Completely changed up gunplay and health/ammo systems to benefit skill curve and recoil control (no deviation). Changed vehicle interactions. Attachments are back. New customization system. Reinforcements/fortifications. Soldiers are faster.
More similar to BF3/BF4 except (obviously) the time period.
Ryan Ingham yeah the only thing that seems to actually change any game dynamic is that the guns are alot better more ranged battles to be had bcoz of it. The only other change I notice is the bullets size during ADS shooting but it's only a slight quality of life upgrade looks rubbish would pay 50$ for it
The BAR and SMGs were in service during WW1. This assertion that they are WW2 weapons is total bullshit.

Why does it have to be different? Because it's a $60 standalone release marketed as a different game, that's why.
There's a few changes in this game like the changes to squad play, classes feeling more significant and putting skill back into sniping that makes me confident this will be much better than 1. UwU
Oh have they changed sniping to be closer to how it was in BF 3/4? I'd been adamant I wasn't gonna get this game after BF1 disappointed me so massively but if they've made sniping less absolutely depression-inducing I may rethink that.

@@TheRoboteer it doesn't have the one shot chest mechanic anymore and bullet velocity it lower. Not quite as much drop as 3 and 4 but there's more.

Try Post Scriptum instead. Trust me it's way better. Well it's actually a WWII game worth playing.
Funnily enough it's a standalone mod of Squad, a game which I got into because Hat Films played it on their channel a few years ago. I'm sure Smith would absolutely love Post Scriptum.

So glad the boiks decided to record some battlefield for the main channel and not just stream it! Loved the bf1 content also back in the days.
ACTUALLY. There have been major shakeups to some of the distinguishing features of BF1. Now in BFV: the ttk is lower, weapons have *real* recoil instead of random visual recoil, the "attrition" system means you spawn with less ammo (this affects vehicles too which no longer have infinite ammo reserves) and do not automatically regenerate health, 3D spotting has been removed (so you now need to use your eyes) and finally squad mates can revive each other no matter the class however medics revive faster and up to full health. Basically, BFV is a lot harder than BF1.
I'm not entirely sure, but I am fairly certain that there were no british tanks (or tanks in general) in Narvik during WWII.

You guys should maybe have a bash with Post Scriptum (WW2 shooter). its like squad ( that semi-realistic shooter),Post Scriptum is actually published by the guys who make squad and they helped with the development of it.
Remember this is still a fairly limited alpha test where a vast amount customisation is locked. I think you should try more of the new features instead of just regular conquest - grand operations seems to be one of the big new selling points, along with fortifications.

All BF1 comments aside, I have to say I enjoy the notion a Norwegian map. Not every day a WW2 game does some of the less well known theatres of war.

Y'know I think the bois need to find some games with good RP potential and just go from there. Maybe put out some content similar to Criken? They're all really funny, have great chemistry and are quick thinkers... Plus they do great funny voices.

The bullet size during ADS had decreased. The weapons are better but other then that nothing has changed

People are moaning about the guns not being historically accurate, again! Well guess what we are not all history professors, if you actually go to a museum you can see all the weapons from BF1 from WW1 on display including multiple variant of Machine guns and more.
People are moaning about the maps being too open when we only have a couple to play and have not seen anything else, other than this Alpha build.
People are moaning because customisable options are not open in an Alpha build. You know, becuase it's an Alpha build.
Do yourself a favour, watch the video and form your own opinion on how the game is coming along. Don't listen to all the armchair history experts who didn't even get access to the Alpha! Hell what you could do is try and get into the BETA yourself and play it before you make an opinion. Like I did on BF1.

bf4 was a reskin of bf3 with some extra little things just like bad company 1 and 2 the only BF game that changed things and wasnt a reskin was BF2

The last BF i played was BF1942 xD maybe its time to come back.
There was an Xbox 360 Arcade game called Battlefield 1943. It was basically a condensed version of a remastered 1942 (focusing solely on the Pacific stage). It looked great (for its time) and played just like its original. I think it may still be available to play on the Xbox One, though I'm not sure as I haven't turned my Xbone on in months... I suppose, even if it is still "operational" I doubt there'd be enough players to constitute a decent match.

best thing about this game is the shooting plays like BF4 where you need some skill which is great, also the newest trailer that came out totday looks awesome
Personally, I find it's easier to kill people in Bf4, as opposed to Bf1 (with SMGs).
@@bp837 well yes that's how it works, in BF4 you have recoil and shooting patterns that start of hard but you then learn them to become good, however in bf1 they took this out and added random spread which took out the skill as it's mostly RNG based, it is easier to kill in bf1 as everyone is pretty much equal which isn't really how these games should work
Making it rng is just fine
most of the BF community will disagree there, RNG removes any chance of skill and just makes it boring when you have little control over the weapons, it makes it so there is nothing to get good at as the players skill has very little influence in BF1, in every other battlefield a bullet goes where you aim in single shot mode... as it should then when you go to full auto it has recoil which you can learn the pattern of and get used to just like real life, in BF1 you can be standing right next to the guy and the bullet could miss thats just stupid
I honestly never noticed there was a certain recoil pattern in Bf4, despite the fact that I sunk about 450 hrs into the game. Don't the round just disperse upwards after a few shots?

Oodldoodl Noodlesocks typically it’s expanded and improved where as this looks almost exactly like bf1. Like for a completely different era with way more advanced tech and completely different warfare it should look different. At many points it looks just like the snow maps in bf1 even the car their in looks like the same enter animation and turret (a slight desk in)as the armoured car in bf1

Compare BF1942 and BF2. Those were completely different games (and I will still critisize that you could use fewer vehicles in BF2 than in BF1942). But reskins like this are just a joke. You sell them at full price even though you just reskinned already existing assets and possibly changed some values in the properties of the assets and then call it a new game. Hey if you think that's ok and want to pay that price that is your decision. But people like you who pay for basically the same game again and even better preorder them are the reason why the game industry thinks it's ok to do this shit.
