Great history lesson! Just one favor to ask. When junior is informing us, we’re gonna need Papa Kap to take a back seat and shut the fu@! Up. LOL! Just bustin chops but for god sakes let junior do his thing! Love your videos, love your excitement and enthusiasm for every beautiful bike you get your hands on! Keep Kickin Butt, Kaplan America!
These videos are hilarious with you an Jr. It's literally like a high pressure motorcycle interrogation by Pops. Kid can't get a word in edge wise..Lol😅😅😅
I rode motocross from 1976 to 1988 on all yz Yamahas they really evolved in those years . I remember drooling over the first water cooled bikes. the suspension and handling also improved drastically In the early 80s
I am currently restoring a 1977 YZ250d. First year of the mono shocks, I have plenty of photos of what you are talking about on regard to Yamaha's jump into the mono shock future. Cheers from Australia
I owned a AT3-E over here in Oz in the late '70s...Extremely rare to have a electric start in those days,,,,,,went on and bought a DT400 monoshock,,,,what a beast!
Between 69-71 Yamaha had the AT1-M models which were considered motocross versions. They were based off the enduro models but had different VIN numbers to show the difference in both model bikes. 1972 was the 1st year Yamaha actually called the AT125 a ATMX and it was completely different then the AT2 125 enduro. I had a 1971 AT1M-C 125 back in the early 70's as a kid. I think i still have a polaroid picture of it! 1972 was also the real 1st DT2MX..
Bjr à tous, good morning Kaplan museum, this video is super interesting that you, and continues, 👏👏💪😍Jérôme de France vous salut tous DIEU vous garde peace and love ✌️💖
Let him flow Dad let him flow! You like a big ol' baffle in da way LOL. When did y'all open up? I left the East Coast in '13 and I wish I had known about you. Just love your vids, your shop, store and all the work you do. I'm getting a DT 250 this week but I've see y'all feature a couple of bikes from my youth too... GS550 ES..... I am not gonna be picky because this '78 bike was owned by a collector and is in massive condition but we all know the '74-'76 is the most iconic.
Great info "Jr".....from AT, CT, to DT to IT, MX & YZ, all well made bikes by a leading company in dirt bike sports. Thanks for the VJMC plug as I'm learning a lot of those same folks restoring Japanese bikes have no clue the club exists.....we'll see about front cover status for the NEMM (the board & editor make that decision) interview from late August....front cover has my vote!
I had a 1973 honda sl 100 4 stroke bike which my late father gifted me as my bierthday present. I was 17. Niow i am 64 yrs. Old. I still love bikes. But I love my 2018 Honda PCX 150 Scoot.. suits my age. I am from the Philippines.
Those two white Yamaha bikes the 125 & 175 were real eye candy! That 125 reminds me of the bike my brother in-law had, MT 250 Elsinore. Are those for sale? My cuz had a DT 100 w/ orange metal tank & not sure if the fenders were plastic or metal. It was an enduro with light & turn signals. Not sure what year. He ran the piss out of that bike! 6'4 300+ lbs. & it pulled him up a hill behind his house. Are all of these bikes listed on a webpage somewhere? It would be really cool to check them all out on a website. Seems that in the past 2 years every time I find a bike online that I'm interested in when I call the owner up they had already sold them. Really crazy! I guess you could say I have an eye for quality & what other riders like too! I'm really looking forward to hearing you fire up that blue Bultaco 350 Ken! That bike is a real eye candy for sure! Where can I see these bikes or would I have to come to the museum to see them all? Thanks guys! 😎👍
Kid in the neighborhood used to ride his dad’s YZ490. He was 10 at the time and would have to stop near a log or rock bc he couldn’t touch the ground. 🤣

Great video. If anyone hasn't been to the museum I highly recommend it.
My dad had a CT175. He painted it camouflage so he could take it on his US Army reserves weekends. Definitely got a lot of looks on the road.
For vintage 2 strokes, I grew up on the Yamaha AT1 and Kawasaki 175. Later had an RT360. Bing bing bing...

Just picked up a Stanley 040-4918 taillight setup at the swap meet today, don't own a DT but it's too cool to pass up
Kept missing that LT 100
At first I thought that is Wolverine
Don't tell anyone but it is.... He's laying low right now pretending to run a motorcycle museum in the northeast.

Ht1 90cc purple that was the missing link in your Yamaha lineup, also the gtmx. Or is that a different catagory?
Aloha
Your missing the ht1 I'm up in southern Ontario Canada and I bought one in a farm auction
Would be cool if you could do a video on the outside of the US bikes like the wr200 and the dt-200
category? The back seat on the CT1 a factory accy. Or aftermarket.?
