If you’re visiting the North of Italy, you can’t miss one of the most beautiful lakes in the country: Lake Como. You’ll soon understand why celebrities like George Clooney made a point of having vacation estates along this emerald gem.
We couldn’t leave this gorgeous part of Italy without taking our excursions out on the water with a rented boat to sail out throughout golden hour. It was incredible to ride by the many luxurious villas and delightful towns, and even jumping into the water before making our way to our final destination in Italy!

I just came back from Milan & visited Lake Como. Such a breathtaking place! But it was sooo cold & it’s not as green as what I can see from your video.. Nonetheless, it was still worth the visit.. ❤

Lake Como is still in our opinion one of the most beautiful places in Italy!
It is obvious that in winter around Lake Como there is less green...but it is still beautiful !!! 😊

If you love nature you should visit Cascate di Acquafraggia and Val di Mello, one of the most beautiful alpine valleys. Both places are situated over the lake, about 30 km far from Colico.
That’s an amazing suggestion! We will definitely note that down for the next time we visit 🥰. Would a day trip be enough or should we reserve a couple nights?
In one day I suggest the waterfalls (there's also a path over them, if you want to walk) and the nearby Palazzo Vertemate Franchi, a very beautiful palace of Italian Rinascimento. In Val di Mello you can stay one day or one week, if you like wandering through the mountains. You can find there Monte Disgrazia and Piz Bernina, the highest peaks in Lombardy. If you like you can sleep in San Martino, the village quiet closed to the valley.

The boat rental is a good call, that's almost what we did. It was worth it!

Yeeees, that gelateria is great!! When did you guys go? The weather was so good! This made us miss Lake Como even more 😢
