      I run my OS from an external thunderbolt NVME so that I can carry my Steam library etc. around with me. I'm unfortunately also on an AMD system. It's 1000x worse when your entire PC crashes every time that USB bug triggers. And potentially corrupts the entire Win2Go installation. Again. >.< Going back to tried and true Intel again on my next build. Xeon workstations are just... solid. Yes, for gaming. >.>

    • @ArtemisKitty

      @@dakoderii4221 For me it's my Steam controller. Unplugging it 100% of the time causes this. I never unplug the dongle now, and just use bluetooth when I want to use it on any other device.
      Edit: That's not the only cause, and in fact sometimes it just happens while I'm sitting here doing innocuous stuff like watching CZcams, but if I do unplug it? Guaranteed crash due to the usb bug.

    • @MJ-uk6lu
      @MJ-uk6lu Před 3 lety +2

      They weren't really manufactured for that. Intel just doesn't want to throw out heavily defective dies, so they poop out this things in box with cooler and hope that they can sell some and not lose money. Even back then this CPU was running as fast as elderly man with both legs broken. Nobody should have bought these things as they sold them for as much as dual core Celerons (they still sucked, but at least you had two elderly mans with broken legs).

    So... this may sound odd, but even today I can see that as a viable CPU.
    Specifically for CNC machines and the like, as they often run a simple linux or even DOS shell. Especially if working with older hardware, even just 10 years ago that was still the standard on most of them. In that environment, you want something that can be 100% sealed off, so passive cooling is a must, meaning the less power needed, the better. This would be perfect for a 5-axis milling machine running linux. Yes, newer ones are either higher-end with full CAD built in or using ARM processors, but a lot of companies, especially smaller ones, are still using the slightly older but still perfectly good machines. Also applies to DIY tinkerers who buy them used, or build their own.
    Oh. Also for always-on display terminals like at airports/train stations. There are a LOT of older systems still in use there, haha.

    I love how we look back at older hardware and laugh at how bad it is in today's standards, but that PC is STILL more powerful than a "computer" from 1955. Just ponder that for a moment. Still an awesome video TJ. Hell, my i9 9900k system is more powerful than a super computer that NASA was using in 1988. That's a video I'd love to watch. It's hard to compare since we can't just get super computers from any point of time on ebay. . . or ever, but to just do the basic Dell in a box comparison to the paper specs of older super computers through out time would be really fun. The super computer I'm thinking of is the Cray-2 released in 1985 and was discontinued in 1990. Now compare that SC to a modern day PC and revel in laughter at the results. OH! Not just the hardware comparison, but PRICE is a major factor. Gee. I can't get an RTX 3090 for less than $2420 US in 2021. In 1988, this technology would have cost millions. Just a thinking point. I know the state of PC components is bad, but my parents spent $2000 in 1997 on a PC which can't hold a candle to my Galaxy S9 which I paid $300 for a year ago. Just a thought :D LOve you all!
