    Great Video! Love the variety of buses, we have here in Sydney. Peak hour is great for buspotting, in terms of variety and frequency, but not in terms of masses of people. That is where off peak, is better for filming without lots of people in the way. :)

      It would be great being a bus enthusiast in Sydney, there's a lot more buses there compared to any other Australian city. There's also a large mix of government and private operators so plenty of variety. More so compared to Melbourne.

      Yeah. In terms of buspotting, I do think Sydney is the best in Australia. :)

    Such a shame that the remaining state transit regions are getting contracted out to private operators early 2020

    First to write a comment, I know all the metro train types in Melbourne
    Comeng
    X trapolis
    Siemens Nexas
    Hitachi (which they have been retired in 2013)

  • @istanbulbelediyeotobusleri

    There is a lot of effort in the video.

    Can someone explain to me why there are so many different colour buses in Sydney. Are they different transit systems?.....

    • @ThebusofdoomFSX
      @ThebusofdoomFSX  Před 4 lety +2

      A lot of it comes down to different bus operators; being a mix of the government-owned State Transit Authority, and numerous private operators, each having their own livery, plus you also have the premium 'metrobus' routes that have their own red livery. In recent years through there has been an attempt at creating a uniform livery for both the STA and private operators which is a mix of blue and white in an 'arrow' style. Melbourne used to be the same too; different liveries for different bus operators although most companies now wear the white and orange PTV livery.

      ThebusofdoomFSX ok I understand better now. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I was so confused as to why. I live in North America and major Transit cities like New York and Toronto vehicles all have a uniformed livery from streetcars to buses and trains. Making it easier to differentiate city services from outside transit systems.
