- I wanted to play This Velvet Glove for a long time but it didn't make sense to me to play it without the acoustic part which is so important to the song. My usual videos are bass on the left and electric guitar on the right but for this one I did something special. I started with the acoustic rhythm guitar on the left and the electric guitar on the right. In this version you'll hear the acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass. After that you'll see the bass and electric guitar which makes it easier to figure out what the electric guitar is actually doing.
Thank you Arie Goossens for lending me your Modulus bass! Be sure to check out his RHCP tribute band Californicated! www.californicatedband.com

this velvet glove is such a special track for me, one of their most beautiful and underrated songs in my opinion. the chorzow live version of this masterpiece makes me cry once in a while
Your tone is so spot on! You have all the right gear but I'm sure it takes a lot of time and study to tweak the settings. I know the amps have a major impact on tone, but how about pickups? Any recommendation for a set that sounds like John's strats?
Salveeee funkyyy!! Terceira ou quarta vez que te acho nos comentários dos vídeos dele. Pretende voltar com covers no canal é? Tu é monstro funkyzinho, tamo juntooooooo ❤🇧🇷
I just liked the pickups that came in my Strat when I bought it. I never experimented with changing the pickups so I can’t advise you.
Funky, qualquer vintage repro de Stratocasters de marcas de alta qualidade vai soar muito bem para o timbre do John, principalmente os com polos AlNiCo V e fios pesados Formvar. No caso dessa do vídeo, são Fender Pure Vintage '65.
Awesome! Love how the 3 different parts compliment each other so much, while on their own they might not even be recognizable as the song. Very cool! 🌶 🔥🌶🎸🤘🏽👍🏽
One of my favorite tracks of theirs. Such a cool vibe. Nice job!!!
Thanks!
i love this song, i had it on my playlist everyday at school :) thank you for all this covers 🔥
It's always a pleasure to see a new video of your channel my bro, I love this beautiful song. Impeccable cover 🌶
Amazing! when you said you were about to upload californication songs, this song came first on my thoughts. I've been playing this song on bass quite a lot recently. It took me a long time to figure out the chorus part and I thought I was playing it right but I see you playing it better 🙌🏼 thanks a lot for sharing ❤
Amazing man, this peppers song became very famous here in Brazil (yes, a Brazilian is your fan, bro) because of a series, it's my wife's favorite and within Californication it's one of the ones I love too! If it doesn't bother you, could you bring Strip my mind in a next video? stadium arcadium is a special album for me, all the success in the world to you and sorry for the huge text and if there is anything written differently it's because I used google translate to help me.
what's the series name, and where can I find the song?
@@whitebuffalo4904 It was part of a collection with several artists, the series was called Malhação in the year 2000 (because this series had several editions, some continuous and others different)
@@SrPatoVoloko essa música tá na malhação?
My favorite song!!!! Great Job! 🎉🎉🎉
Great song and totally agree with two versions. I wonder i you can play Eddie, i know is basically a super guitar solo but you are the man here!
Awesome!
Amazing!!!
LOVE IT
Awesome !!! Thanks for covering this bro !!! Amazing!!! 😊
Thanks, you’re welcome!
Amazing video
Sounds great! Could you please do their cover of Little Miss Lover? I love the wah in that song. Keep up the great covers!
Oh yeah!!!!!!
Awesome work! You should play The Shape I'm Takin' at some point. It's a crime against humanity that it wasn't included on the album.
Awesome dude!! 🥰🥰🥰 You're the best!
Thanks!
Special song ❤
lovely mate! Uber.
Nice!
You're back🎉❤
To the future? In black? With a vengeance?
I like it! 👍🏻
Me too 😄
Wohooo😱😱😍😍🎉🎉🔥🔥
meu deus, eu poderia ouvir isso por horas....
this my favorite song of californication
killer
LETS GOOOOO
The guitar in both acoustic and electric sound very accurate and good bro! Excelent. It's difficult for me to get that sound on the acoustic guitar, since it sounds like thin on the original recording, but you got a really similar sound. Is there any trick to achieve that sound on the acoustic guitar?
By the way, it is also difficult to make the strum so similar, since even in the original recording its strum varies slightly and accentuates some movements more than others in each part.
You are right, I cut a lot of the low frequencies on the acoustic with the hi-pass filter on my preamp. It’s more about the rhythmic attack than the notes. The body of the sound comes from the bass and the electric guitar.
Thanks you so much bro! Thats helpful.
I love your videos, keep it up!@@RedHotChiliRiffs
Amazing man but when you gonna do [Not the one] ?
I can’t wait for Handful
A slept on jewel
Please do dark necessities
❤
Which mic are using for recording the acoustic guitar tracks please?
I used the Aston Origin.
This cover is so perfect!!!
How is the volume in the room?
I see that u used CE-1 Chorus on High Mode on 1o clock, Major with the High Treble on 6 and Normal Channel on 4 and jubilee with volume master on 6/7 and Input Gain on 7.
For me that would'd be so loud and distorted for those two amps with those settings, but i'm wrong after hearing those magical crunch sound you made.
Thanks! It’s definitely very loud in the room!
@@RedHotChiliRiffs How the sound is to clean/crunchy and not distorted at all? using high volumes on both amps and on high mode on ce-1? Do you use some attenuator?
@LuccasMatt No, I don’t even own an attenuator. The amps are at the edge of breakup.
Hey man do a video of stadium arcadium, it's my favorite song
Hi can you do “The Righteous & The Wicked”?
So Beautiful❤❤Brazil loves you

While it's obviously more accurate with it, I felt like the song had more depth if the acoustic guitar part was there!
Do you ever plan to get a Martin 0-15?
No, I’m happy with the Gibson.
For those who don't know, Josh Klinghoffer actually played acoustic on the original recording in 1998 as well as some back up harmonies with John.
That’s untrue. John and Josh met each other on the Californication tour.
@@RedHotChiliRiffsno, that’s untrue. John and Josh met each other january 3rd 1997 when John played with Thelonoius Monster at the Delancey Street Foundation in Hollywood. But I doubt Josh played acoustic guitar on the recording
Thank you for so much chilli pepper😢
I love that song Do Wet Sand and Tell Me Baby and Dani California and Snow (Hey Oh) Please
