It has been working great for us! The coon haven't touched the feeders since installing this unit. The best part is, we never have to recharge it. That solar panel on top will have the battery fully charged by late morning. I hope this unit helps you out as well.

Yes there’s a battery. Did you try charging the unit with the supplied charging cord? Sometimes the solar is not enough to keep it fully charged.
Does this keep birds away too?
I hadn’t noticed it interfering with the birds, it’s possible that some species of birds will not like the decibels it emits.
Is it safe if you have a Dog or cat ?
It is safe for all animals, however, it will keep the dogs and cats away from it as well.
