Tough layup to hit
Not really this is the first layup i've learned i struggled more with the basic layup Lol don't know why
@@joshcristoffpanlilio7799 ratio
@@joshcristoffpanlilio7799 i always blew wide open layups when i finger roll 😑
@@joshcristoffpanlilio7799 L
@@fastcars514 bro ratio in a youtube comment and won somehow
I've got a tough layup to block for you guys, approach fast and go off two feet jump up and dunk the ball. Hope this helped :)
Thank u Giannis
LOL
@@udon7838 LMAO GIANNIS IM DEAD
Interesting
That's always been my go to!
Tough to block tougher to do and toughest to do when the def is 7ft
Do you all know how to block people who use their back a lot
@@beysd2678 personally itry to drive them one way and make them sort of run out of ideas and mindblock them by not pushin back until the last second
The way he jumped off from his left foot 😳
Yo what😳
He jumped off of both feet
@@reardonludwig6550 no he didn’t 💀
Yeah
Lmao, nah he def jumped off both feet but it looks like he came awfully close to rolling the sh*t outta that left ankle upon takeoff…
Coach gone tell me to sit down but it’s a good move
Why would he take you out the game for this? What is his suggestion for finishing layups over shot blockers?
@@davidhall4401take it right to their chest and force the refs to blow the whistle. This move isn’t a sound basketball move. The level of difficulty vs % of making it, isn’t even close. Plus it leaves the ball too far exposed for anybody trailing or coming over to help to block.
When i was still active in basketball, i played with african ballers. From what i learned, if they have good ball handling skills, just guard the man, and dont look at the ball. It worked for me. Doesn't matter if they do cross overs, ankle breakers, if they jump shot or what, i just guard them by looking at their hips or chest.
Anyone can score especially people who trained basketball all their life. Just make it harder for them to play ball
That is the way I play and tell kids I coach how to defend. Don't worry about head fakes and hand movements. Watch their waist. He's not going anywhere without it. As I like to tell guys I play against, especially tall players, "You might shoot over me, but you're not going to get around me."
@@donaldwyatt7617 yes exactly! When i look at their waist these ballers becomes exactly like how 60's players move ahahahha
And it is also weird, but my opponents do stuffs like street balling, but me, i dont dribble much. What i do is very repetitove something like faking, and i go either to left or right, 1-2 dribble depending on their body movement and i jumpshot on their slightest mistake. I rarely miss and i don't even jump high
Nowadays people dribble much like stephen curry. Im thinking it is because they need to create more space because what they do is not really jumpshot but a quick release, low release point set shot. Although i can do both, but people right now are just focusing on the"moves" rather than practicality
@@user-fg7kk1kn6b I'm with you. 58 years old, I'm an old school hook shooter too.
@@donaldwyatt7617 oh man! Respect! Im actually playing 2 guard position but i actually practice the sky hook.
Im actually just 5 foot 6 tall and i dont do cross overs but when i used to play, ballers and amd 1 ballers are actually frustrated at me doing these sky hook shots 😂😂😂
They think those shots are fluke 😂😂. They didn't know that you are actually using your opposite shoulder blade for aiming at the ring, non shooting hand as balance and space creation, and the hook shot, you although your arm curves, you actually shoot it like you shoot a jump shot 😂. Since 2010, the defence became so lax that when someone passes me the ball on the base line, i would just literally sky hook it like im throwing a towel or something 😂. And it rarely miss!!!
Man nobody does thr basics anymore. 😆
@@user-fg7kk1kn6b I agree with your assessment. I get the same reaction when I do skyhooks. A few years ago, I was playing with a group of guys on a regular basis, and when someone new joined us, he would complain in disbelief. But, one of the regulars would reply, “That’s what he does.” 😆
And you are right about using the opposite shoulder in aiming your hook shot. I also enjoy moving or running hookshots. One of my signature hookshots is cutting across the paint, receiving a pass as my right foot strikes the floor, then stepping with and jumping off of my left foot (as in a lay-up) as my right hand with ball goes up for a hookshot off of the glass. Another is running parallel to the paint, especially against a big guy, I’m 5’8” and since my days of having a 39” vertical is long gone, I put up a what I call a flying hook in lieu if a normal lay-up. I’ve done the same running parallel to the sideline towards the corner. You can imagine the disbelief I get when it goes in. 😂
You are right about the decline in playing defense and lack of fundamentals, which I emphasis the importance of with the two 16U teams I am currently coaching (one is boys, the other girls). I tell them, with offense you can have good days and bad days when the ball just isn’t sinking. But, with defense you either have solid defense or you are either being lazy or you are injured.
I also like to join in the scrimmage and practice so I can SHOW them as well as tell them. Let’s just say, especially the boys, they have learned to respect my shooting. 😂
The amount of trouble you have to go through just to counter someone's height 😭
Anyone over 6’ swatting that shot back to Antarctica with that 20 inch vert
I didn't make my basketball team but these vids and the programs are making me so much better thank you
The back spin is everything when doing trick layups. Facts!!!
The left foot😫😫
His killer combos are the best ❤️
Thanks Coach 🏀
Thought shot, I would probably drop the fake and use your body for my protection , it gives better control on the release and it’s tougher for a a recovering defender to cleanly block
“Better hope u make it” OR ELSE💀 coach said
One of may favorite moves❤️
Before u even attempt that layoff the ball already swept away off ur hand when u jump. It’s just that easy to defend.
He slowed time for a moment
Thank you, May God bless yoy and everyone. ❤
Tough lay to block in a 1 on 1 situation but if à help defender comes late he might chasedown block it easily
Gonna work on this move
Thanks Coach
u don't even hoop.
tysm for the advice
You ain't no hooper. You not using it.
i do this in games and it worked very well, you just need to hit those.
No you don't, You don't even hoop.
I'm throwin that
I’ll get my geometry box for next video
I didn’t think it would fall lol
That’s hard to master bro 😎
people who wanna watch him play a real 😊
Ight bet.
When your taking notes at school
His left foot while he gathered hurt my soul
Also don’t forget to not break your leg
This dude an alien, look at his left foot
Nice one!
What about the contact from the defense that will completely throw your shot off therefore making it a bad shot/layup
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice
I like to rotate my body a bit more an earlier. In an actual game, if the defender tries to swing, it my get a ref to call it since it'll look like they are coming down over you shoulder neck region in some situations. In a pick up game you can bump them with your backside or hip.
Bro, you're left foot look like it was about to break😂😂
You do that with double rim that’s going to fly like in the air crazy
The rim in this video is a triple rim 🤷♂️

My coach makes me run when I do underhand layups. Ig it makes sense bc I’m pretty short.
Villanova does this
This hurts my brain
If you trailing him do your stutter step, time it, jump! do not swat for the ball! Go off 2 feet as well. Aim for the backboard not the ball! Go up with 2 hands and tap backboard on both sides. The worse you'll get is a goaltend or a foul if he throws his body into you.
You need a decent vert for this or I’m just bad
You desreve 10 million subs sir !
You've Helped Me Alot ..........
Show love here bro
what shoes are those?
If it’s a taller defender, fade away just a bit
how to get the ball taken away if it’s to wide
ill just use both hands to block the shot one in the other side and other one in the order side
What finishing badges do I need to do this consistenly?
Unless if u had 2 defenders jumping tryna block 😂
Respecc
Can still be blocked from the back though.
what shoes are they

but question what will all yall do when i go up with my left hand then yall try this stuff and with my right hand i block u 😎 i wonder if kyrie has sum for that
Bruh his foot
Just dunk on the 7 footer lmao
Actually I blocked layups like that in a fast break I just jump and raise both arms then anticipate where he will throw it then block
Love that moment too bad its lockdown rn courts are locked
I read that wrong...
Tbh i only see half the battle
How he not break his left foot on the jump
Quick question HOW IN THE FREAKING WORLD DID THAT GO IN IF THE CORNERS GEORGA THEN THAT HIS AFRICA
Hey how to run while dribbling
Try dribbling further in front of you and then running onto the ball
Just make sure you don’t dribble too far out so you don’t lose the ball
@@linkr2183 thank you
Try not to dribble to close to your feet so you dont trip, try pushing it out maybe a 2 feet away from you while jogging then slowly go faster while pushing the ball out further
czcams.com/video/oBoSOpN-TWM/video.html
Practice
If my defender slower than me I just play wit them a lil bit ( 5-7 secs ) and as soon I get that small advantage ahead I just hope the ball in front and lay it underhanded…FILAYYY
Tried this and still got blocked the guy had hops and blocked me 😭🤣
Who else learned this lay by isiah thomas

It's way easier to do when you have 9 inch+ hands

I could stuff this 99/100
can you dunk
wont work
not doing this
I thought if u take 2 steps and then stop it’s a travel or am I wrong
if you look in the slo motion version at the beginning you can see he dribbles on that first step, so the next quick 2 steps he takes are good and aren't counted as a travel because he dribbled on that first move. hope that makes sense! :D
Wrong
@@Tee.Dolo2x Wrong to who? The comment or the reply
That's not a travel. If you're moving while dribbling the ball, you are allowed 2 steps after gathering the ball in order to come to a stop. This doesn't need to be followed by a shot. The first foot that hits the ground after the gather is your pivot foot. You can pick the pivot foot up after it is established but you can't put it down again until you have shot or passed the ball.
I didn’t hear a word he said
Lmao same I can't hear shi
Tough to block + low percentage shot. Sure.
This is like math because all the talking he’s saying in this video
Imagine if he missed
Kyrie layup...
block it by pushing him mid jump
hahaha u can just higher ur layups if the blocker is taller than u.😆
Exactly lmao what is this vid
The way his left shoe bent made me cringe 😬
They gone foul u and u gone miss most of the time
