  • Since January 2012, Mali has been facing a violent insurgency in the north of the country. But the soldiers on the front line have been growing bitter accusing their commanders of corruption by sending them to fight with little pay and insufficient equipment.
Some are even thinking of changing sides.
Their widows and families back home say they have been forgotten by the nation their men died for.
#BBCAfricaEye investigates the cycle of death, violence and corruption, and asks: is there no end in sight?

Russia is the largest arms exporter to Africa, accounting for 39 percent of arms transfers to the region in 2013-2017.
      Moscow’s influence in Bamako?
The fact that the Russian ambassador to Mali, Igor Gromyko, was one of the first officials to be received by the Junta is thus unsurprising. The local media aBamako.com reports that the military leaders of the coup had just spent a year training in Russia. While this kind of activity is not extraordinary, with countries such as the US training armies from more than 20 African countries and shaping its military leaders, it indicates that Russia considers its security presence in Africa necessary. WHY sending other pple s sons to go fight if its that important than why leaders go to war with their sons tooo? But instead they stay samwere safe and comand .... dear yound man (soldier) you r being used . Who ever is sending you to war ( ur so called leaders) dont care about you their r using you.... they dnt care about ur parents who are crying day and night wen you die! Them ( your leaders) they hide their precious kids and make sure that they safe at all cost and you ( soldiers) your out there fighting and your family are at risk meaning your chance of dying is 💯 % and your family will be killed by the sme pple your fighting bcs who ever send you to war will never protect them as he protected his own family . So what are you fighting for ? If at the end you will die so as your pple.... the only person who will benefit is your leaders and their precious family and use to country resources for their own benefits... the reasons why ex soldiers who come back home disabled sent back to their homes without any support is because they uses less and leaders dnt care! Your parents will take over and care for you soldiers but they were not the one who send you to war!!!!!! Black men think !!!!!!!!!! If some ( so called leaders) one believe that war is the solution that thy should go do it alone and let him go to war with his sons so he will know the pain of losing a child !!!!

Hello. We need to pray for each other. From the word of God to us: (Iz 9)2 The people that walked in darkness saw a great light, and on those who dwelt in the region of the shadow of death light shone.
6 For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us, and the government is upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace. God has not left us orphans. He sent us Jesus the Savior. There is hope. Cry for Christ and he will help you. We need to turn to God with a humble heart of obedience. Jesus will soon return. Pray. Read the Bible. You are loved by God. Greetings. From Brasil. 🌷

Make no mistake, the fact that the French&other powers have been in Mali since 2011 cannot be ignored for anyone who knows the modus operandi of the nomads, who armes and trains the jihadis, how can they be so elusive with all the drones, the satellite, the spies on the ground... The North of Mali is full of oil,gold... Follow the resources in the ground and u'll understand part of the story, the other part r the Saudis, Qataris,Emirates... Who foot the bill while the French train an already religiously endoctrinated by the Arabs.

With the red zone Sahel region boiling in blood, one wonders what will become the fate of the neighbouring countries, particularly Nigeria, the hub of African countries in terms of human capacity and resources.

Look xat the outdated armory our people have to defend themselves, the jihadist are back by wealthy islamic countries, as an African American male , it sickens me to see my people slaughter eachother in the names of RELIGIONS that are foreign and false in , our ancestors had it right before we WERE brainwashed into buying in to Religion, which is man made, we had spirituality that was GOD given, i suggest we return to our traditional spiritual beliefs, this situation is terrible and will not improve, especially with the us and europe involvement in looting the country natural resources.
