That can work for most people unless you lose your job or fall under other circumstances that make a steady income impossible. The problem being the banks prey on kids, they inundate them with credit card applications, basically telling them it's free money. Another pitfall of college, which is still a requirement (though what you study doesn't seem to matter) to land a higher paying job. TBH, I still say there should be a mandatory class in high school that teaches financial responsibility, among other ACTUALLY USEFUL life skills. The only way to make money in a capitalist market economy is to make voluntary deals between the capitalist, the laborers and the consumers, which is beneficial to all involved, otherwise they wouldn't take the deal.
There are some regulations that need to be made of course in order to correct market failures such as monopolies and such, but over regulation only serves to impede the people's entrepreneurial spirit, and will end up hurting that same society in the long run as over regulation and taxation of the businesses will drive these leaders and innovators away to more business friendly nations.
Thus, we come to the dilemma of properly balancing free market enterprise with government regulation over market inefficiencies and failures. Falling too far into either side will lead to demise, and that's why the conversation will be everlasting, as it should be.
Sadly, too many people are too misinformed to engage in this kind of discourse, so inequalities in society tends to lead to socialist tendencies among the lower classes and a revolution usually ending in the whole country's demise. Worse yet, these lower classes of people are raised to rely upon government support, welfare and such, pushed by the left in order to further their socialist ideologies, which inevitably result into a communist regime, with the elites of that party at the top and the rest relying on them indefinitely. Pure slavery.

They conflate different numbers of different kinds of taxes. Leftists love talking about "wealth" which is completely different from "income" but then they conflate the two because they get their information from activists. For example they will complain about how a major company will make billions of dollars in profit and the corporate tax should be higher, but then forget the profit goes to share-holders who either pay income tax on it, or some other form of taxation.
I spend a lot of time trying to tell high school students the difference between wealth and income. If a person makes $100,000 but they spend $100,000 on rent, a leased car, and food then they have no wealth. If someone makes $40,000, has a paid off cheap car, a small house they mortgage, and they put money into savings or investments then they have value stored up in the things they are buying.

brian rodney I’m from Kansas and I know what VAT is. Why can’t that guy know? We can’t go around explaining every possible concept in the world which comes up in conversation, it’s impossible and exhausting. People need to take control of their own education and at least attempt to acquire some basic knowledge.

I have buddy who made over 1 million last year. No one seems to know or ever ask about the time he came to me to borrow $92 because his lights got shut off. His car got repo'd for 3 months. He was 5 months behind on his mortgage and lost his house in a effort to make his business work. NOBODY wanted to share in that, but NOW that he is a millionaire they want MORE EQUALITY FROM HIM???

@@dragonhold4 no, extreme poverty cripples the economy. That is not the same as wealth inequality.
Wealth inequality is really low in Venezuela. Everyone is roughly equally poor. There’s nothing virtuous or successful about their economy.
This is because actual money is irrelevant to economic strength of a nation. WEALTH is a much broader term that encompasses production, opportunity, education, property, and GDP. Just looking at wealth gaps doesn’t tell you anything about the economic strength of a nation.

Unfortunately behind being 'led to believe' still makes him a follower and like most followers they don't apply critical thinking to anything they read or hear. These people who are led to believe typically fit the role of an employee (and there's nothing wrong with being an employee, I'm one of them) whereas those who will not be led would make great employers. There we have the basis for different classes in a democratic free market society.
