  • Last summer, Port Macquarie was isolated by raging bushfires. Then, as the weather cooled, the Covid-19 crisis emerged, threatening the survival of businesses across the country.
    Empty Esky, a national tourism movement, aims to help rebuild communities that were affected by the bushfires and the pandemic (like Port Macquarie) encouraging Australians to support regional businesses and discover new corners of the country they’ll love.
    In the video above, Alistair Flower, co-owner of Port Macquarie’s Little Shack, tells us what he loves most about his town - from his favourite beach to the best spot for whale watching to where to get the best local oysters.
