"Immediate wallpaper" really is THE reaction. At the moment I have my Christmas countdown on, but outside of that, this has been my wallpaper ever since I saw this in theaters. It's one of the most gorgeous scenes in a movie that is gorgeous from start to finish.
A cool detail I noticed near the start is how when Peter's spider sense goes off his eyes immediately snap onto the target but Miles looks like he's trying to figure out whats triggering it.
Raph is right: if Miles really wanted to look bad, he should have gone for random answers. By always excluding the right choice, he basically went 100/100 lol
I never understood the logic, it was never true. everyone has exams where they know the answer is between two choices, to get a zero you could just choose one of the ones you know are obviously wrong, but you never knew the right answer.
To answer your question about the Miles test score, he willingly & purposely got all of the 100 questions incorrectly because he did not want to attend that school, soooo it means he had to know 100% of the questions regardless if he handed in the paper with the incorrect answer the teacher saw past his ruse/fake out and knew he actually had the right answers so she gave him a 100%
What's fun is how in two lines "My friends call me Liv." and "Oh great, it's Liv" they set up a whole history for Olivia and May, that's left completely to the viewer's imagination. The other thing that's worth mentioning here, is that comics May almost got married to Otto Ock at one point.
My sister dragged me with her to watch this film in cinemas when it came out, I didn't want to watch it but went with her. I thank her every day for forcing me there.
The lines at the end always give me chills....and as a long time spiderman nearly makes me tear up. The reason it matters so much about "anyone can wear the mask", is that when Stan Lee pitched Spiderman, a lot of publishers wouldnt take it. The comics at the time of superheros depicted them as "larger than life". Beings we could never truly be. Superman was an alien who worked at a nice desk job by day. Even batman was rich. Which isnt bad...people at the time wanted to fantasize about grander things. But spiderman...was just a guy. A guy that got the lucky spin on the wheel of super powers. He was a teenager, just like those reading the comics at the time. They didnt think itd hit because they didnt believe thats what people wanted to see. But the everyman, anyone...wants to feel super. To feel like they make a difference. Spiderman represents anyone who wants to be a hero. That its not impossible. So the fact they made the basis of miles story around this....ugh ut makes me so emotional. Its the perfect way to bring spiderman to a new generation.

Or "Hobo" Spiderman lol. There's alot of nuance and sadness to him that it really resonated with me. I'm usually a sucker for the depressed characters in stories so it's a bit of bias I suppose 😅
To answer the debate at 8:30 : The reason she gave him a 100% is because statistically speaking if someone doesn't know the answers on a true or false exam (a 50/50 chance of getting it correct) they would average around 50% overall grade give or take. However, he scored a zero percent. Which, when calculated, is the same probability of him scoring a 100% by simply guessing. So in layman's terms you are just as likely to score a 0% by randomly guessing, as you are to score a 100% by randomly guessing. Which obviously everyone knows has an almost impossible chance of occurring. Therefore he knew the answers, but was trying to make himself look bad.
apparently they did the comic thing delibrately! you can take a section out of the movie - like a random frame - and it's supposed to look like a comic page!

Gwen's story is so sad. Peter in her world never was Spider-Man. He was the Lizard. She killed the Lizard, and he only transformed back into normal Peter Parker when he died. That's why she swore off friends. And Spider-Man Noir (the black and white one) is very violent. Yes, he shoots. Dude, when people claim that representation isn't important, or try to belittle the idea of more diversity in media, I feel like they just need to watch things like Raphael's excitement at the fact that this movie has a black Spiderman. Then again, with the amount of videos of people cheering and excited at the black little mermaid that are going around not convincing most people, I suppose something that obvious doesn't do the trick, huh?
Personally, I think that black OC are more important. Miles is nothing but a copy of a pre existing character outside of the comic, and inside the comic? A person had to literally die just so that he could be superhero. What it tells me is that a black person can only be something if a white guy dies first. I prefer Blade, he's one of his kind. As for a black Ariel? No, thank you, I would have rather watched an original story about Mami Wata or Karoo, Nommo, Yemoja among other things that come from genuine African mythologies.
