I’m from Philadelphia and when we got evicted back in September we couldn’t find anywhere to go and no help was available so we packed up some clothes and essentials and drove all the way to Texas where we stayed in the Salvation Army family shelter for 6 weeks until they found a house for us. It was scary and stressful and we left everything behind, my husband and I grew up in Philadelphia but we had no resources there so we packed up and drove across the country to provide a better life for our kids. My family is doing better than ever now, we love Texas and we have a beautiful home. No furniture just little odds and ends but we’re getting it together slowly. I trusted God the entire time, my faith in him is unwavering because He guided us the entire way. I know He’ll do the same for you.

I have been through this once in my lifetime already at 33 as well. Took me 4 years to truly get back to a “normal life” however it’s hard mama ❤ my heart goes out to you. I’d never judge anyone if I can
Remember Job!!!!???? He lost everything but he was restored everything double back from all of his lost! I can promise you, everything you're going through will be your testimony for your bigger blessings coming!!! I know like Paul said, "He knew how to live poor and how to live plenty" so what ever us people of color have to go through and endure, it becomes our greatest Victory! Everytime we got up, we would get our fall back downs! If one never know the pitfalls, he will never know how to gravitate through life issues! My joy came when each time my mother did not know how she was going to feed her 13 children many times...but baby, God always made a way! There was no welfare, no food stamps...but God!!! My parents loved their children and used prayers to get us to where we are now! At the age of 70, I know the many tests and trials we went through taught us many lessons!!! Share, never give up, keep a compassionate heart, forgive and live for God!!! Keep that faith my dear one! Hold on and don't you ever let go...keep your Hope in God!!
This broke my heart because my mom became homeless and I wasn’t raised by her… I went and got her from her home put her stuff in storage moved her with me.. for 3 years put her in a high - rise per her choice 14 months later .. she was found by my aunt deceased on the toliet…. NOW HOLD ON TO MOM NO MATTER HOW HARD IT GETS..she can’t be replaced.. GOD GOT YOU BABY.. I get it .. I’m disabled from birth.. I didn’t have my parents .. my mom was ashamed cause she had a child with cerebral palsy.. but I am at piece becsuse despite her thinking.. I was there for her.. both my parents are deceased now .. dad a massive heart attack@55 mom respiratory failure at 62 I’m 57 I have had 2 heart attacks.. 2 adult children and 5 grandkids.. HOLD ON TO GOD.. he won’t fail you.. he got you .. prayers for mom too that God provides her her own shelter again.. be blessed..
He didn't offer to take his child in which is all that we needed to know. He could hate his child's mother to the ends of the earth, but any father would have taken his kid in while she found a housing arrangement suitable for his child.

My heart hurts watching this because august 12th this year was the day me and my husband and our kids moved into a new place after being evicted last year right before thanksgiving. We ended up moving to another state to live with his grandmother. You look like u we're keeping it together and doing what u had to do. Things are gonna work out in your favor. Just trust this process that you are going through it's not for nothing.

I dont know where she is, but here the landlord has to take you to eviction court first. Where you can give your side of whatever is going on that the landlord is seeking an eviction for. If the judge rules in the landlord favor, which in most cases they do, you usually are given 2 weeks. The sheriffs office usually comes to your home several days later and posts an eviction notice on your door telling you what day the eviction will happen. On eviction day your landlord comes along with the sherriff's office and puts you out. It usually takes about a month or little longer from the time your landlord files for an eviction til the day you are actually evicted. It may be different where they are than here,

She may not have been aware her mom's landlord was in the process of evicting her. Her mom should have told her before her and her son moved in there.

Yeah there's more to the story because that doesn't sound right. It might be that her mother didn't tell her the process was already started. Or they received a 3 day notice from the landlord for something like failure to pay and decided to move out instead of letting the landlord actually begin the eviction process. A lot of people use the term "eviction" loosely.

They have to give you multiple notices 30 days ahead, 90 days, etc, for an eviction so your mother isn’t telling you about the months of warning for the eviction. 72 hrs isn’t reality.
It depends I guess because I just went through this in October and I only had 48 hours notice and literally the next morning while I was at a hospital giving birth they came and cleaned my house out I thought I had more time .
Agree, eviction laws always favor the tenant. There are people living rent free for years because the process can be so long and very expensive for the landlord.
@@twinnish People don’t assume too much if they have gone to the trouble to find out. The different laws in each state are in regard to security deposit return, lower taxes for property owners, access to the rental, timeline for repairs, not just eviction timelines which have to be filed in court in all states before someone can be evicted. That is what slows down the landlord in most cases, waiting for the time to pass when you can file, then waiting for time to pass after you file before they are out. No few days scenario as we were told in this post. Tenants are favored overwhelmingly in the 50 states. There are nightmare landlords and nightmare tenants but it is childish and ignorant to think the ratio is 50/50. Very common for it to take 3 months to 6 months, but common to take 30 plus days to 60 also in a country that favors tenant rights. If people aren’t in the business or don’t do the research, they assume too much.
@@Scarlettbankergirl 3 days is the notice given that proceedings will start in 3 days. In the 3 day states, the landlord has to file in the courthouse and wait for a court date or the landlord has to leave a complaint in easy view for the tenant . Then the court rules and the tenant receives another notice on their door. No eviction takes place 3 days after the original notice even in 3 day states.

See I always thought being homeless is when u live in the street.like really have no place to live.but stay here and there rent rooms.my coworker told me you know ur homeless right.i said no I'm not.my family has had a place to live sleep.this will make u strong love.its been 3 yrs.since we had gotten back on our feet and still.im not fully unpacked.because all we were doing was running like animals here and th ere.throwing all our stuff In bags.unpacking.packing afain.moving again.ii lost my stuff in storage.so to this day I haven't really ever allowed myself to settle in and enjoy having a place of our own.when u are do used to living in other people's rooms.its crazy.

Honey with all respect due if you all got that storage unit when you found out about the 72-hour eviction you could have took those bed and those dressers and got them pushed into that unit you could have put those mattresses in sitting upright slid to the back corner of the storage unit and then you could have took those dressers slid those in going up against the wall of the unit and took the other dressers the smaller ones or nightstands and flipped them upside down on top of the bigger or longer dresses and then went to stacking from there but if you already had the storage unit before that then I get it I understand it the only way you could have made it work was if y'all started unpacking the storage unit and then repacking and that is a whole lot of work that'll be a whole day gone right there probably so yeah but those blankets that you had in the bag you could have tossed that s*** in the storage unit if you was able to take all those toys to the hotel room with you you could have sat there and took those blankets in the bag with you I don't know if you end up taking the blankets with you ultimately or if you did decide to let him stay at the house but if you let her stay at the house with all respect dude that's crazy because you had room in the storage unit to where you could have just threw them in there because you said storage unit not U-Haul and even if it was the U-Haul you still could have threw the bag of blankets in there and if you had packed better you could have got the beds and the dressers in there but I'm more than sure you was right when you said storage unit and you didn't miss speak but it's a learning lesson it definitely is but I'm hoping you never have to go through nothing like that again the only thing I can see you not being able to take with you and having to leave behind because it don't seem like it would have been any room for it in the storage unit is the couch I definitely can agree with that but yeah like I said those dressers the bed honey you could have made do with that and in all honesty your bed at best could have got slid into the storage unit from what you showed right there that that I guess middle space when you have walked in there to show it unless they have some type of rules regulations and guidelines stating that you have to leave x amount of room then that's different but that's far from what I seen you could have got at least a bed and a half in there or you could have set up there and slid them 22 3 long dressers you could have got your longer dresser and your brothers longer dresser slid into that spot and then took those smaller ones and flipped them upside down on top of it and then from there just stacked the mattresses on top you would have had to unscrew the Mirror part most definitely and wrap that up and try to get that in some other way you probably would have had to pull stuff out that was up against the wall of the storage unit in the very front to slide that in or you might have had to say f*** it and leave the mirror behind but where there's a will there's a way I wish that I I was around to help you because one thing for sure two for certain I know how to pack s*** I can pack a lot of s*** in a small space whether it's packing a bag or packing a closet or packing the storage unit or packing a room I am known for that people laugh at me because of how much s*** I can get into a small space and the stuff won't be tumbling out when you open the door or unzip the bag it might be crammed kind of tight you might have to look use a little forced to pull out the first piece of whatever or the first two three pieces at the most most but then from there it's smooth sailing especially if I tell the person look you're going to want to start with X Y and Z or I excuse me I apologize you're going to want to start with a B and C don't jump to xy&z because if you do that then everything all in between is going to come tumbling down or out LOL but yeah hon let me get back to the video you just showed the hotel room that y'all are at and you were saying it was a pool there so let me get back to the video stay warm stay cool depending on the climate people are in stay safe stay blessed and happy New Year

I used to evict people for a living (office manager for L&T law firm), you should’ve went to court and got another order to show cause to delay the process for 3-6 weeks
In whatever reason you got evicted from that house. Don't lose hope God is always with you and your family you just need to reach out to him in prayer. He will answer your prayers but, in his time all knowing what is best for you already.
Since you and your mom both got evicted, are the landlord taking yall the court? Reason I ask that, cause landlords, are known to evicted, and later, have a letter, send out. To your last residet, wish is where you got evicted.
I'm confused isn't there eviction laws and procudures that need to occur before the actual eviction. Something doesn't seem legit?? Who would do something so cruel to a person with a young child??

No disrespect, but can you explain how you got evicted “last minute.” I thought takes over 30 days after the first notice before getting evicted and you could appeal in court.

We couldn’t find the summons that was initially sent to the house, but eventually we did. My mother went back to court an actually won the case once she got the chance to explain her side of the story. The landlord we had was trash they didn’t care about the property nor the tenant, it was always about the money. My mother is currently in the process of finding herself a place.

Some men fails to realize if mom is not ok the child is not ok.
You can't really call him a man. A real man will be there for his kids emotionally & financially regardless of his relationship with the mom.

I don't even have to watch the video Tionna, I was just homeless like 2 years ago......I know you guys are great and it's ok to be upset, and you can't predict the future, it's ok to cry, cause crying helps a lot, believe me....but I had to be in the shelter for a year, cause housing was slow....but alot of cities are using covid to put people in housing quicker....God is He will and He can't wait to bless you again....Mustard seed faith.... remember....stay in the word, He will give it back....He knows...

They have to give you multiple notices 30 days ahead, 90 days, etc, for an eviction so your mother isn’t telling you about the months of warning for the eviction. 72 hrs isn’t reality.
It depends I guess because I just went through this in October and I only had 48 hours notice and literally the next morning while I was at a hospital giving birth they came and cleaned my house out I thought I had more time .
Agree, eviction laws always favor the tenant. There are people living rent free for years because the process can be so long and very expensive for the landlord.

The different laws in each state are in regard to security deposit return, lower taxes for property owners, access to the rental, timeline for repairs, not just eviction timelines which have to be filed in court in all states before someone can be evicted.
That is what slows down the landlord in most cases, waiting for the time to pass when you can file, then waiting for time to pass after you file before they are out.
No few days scenario as we were told in this post. Tenants are favored overwhelmingly in the 50 states. There are nightmare landlords and nightmare tenants but it is childish and ignorant to think the ratio is 50/50.
Very common for it to take 3 months to 6 months, but common to take 30 plus days to 60 also in a country that favors tenant rights. If people aren’t in the business or don’t do the research, they assume too much.

@@Scarlettbankergirl 3 days is the notice given that proceedings will start in 3 days. In the 3 day states, the landlord has to file in the courthouse and wait for a court date or the landlord has to leave a complaint in easy view for the tenant . Then the court rules and the tenant receives another notice on their door. No eviction takes place 3 days after the original notice even in 3 day states.

See I always thought being homeless is when u live in the street.like really have no place to live.but stay here and there rent rooms.my coworker told me you know ur homeless right.i said no I'm not.my family has had a place to live sleep.this will make u strong love.its been 3 yrs.since we had gotten back on our feet and still.im not fully unpacked.because all we were doing was running like animals here and th ere.throwing all our stuff In bags.unpacking.packing afain.moving again.ii lost my stuff in storage.so to this day I haven't really ever allowed myself to settle in and enjoy having a place of our own.when u are do used to living in other people's rooms.its crazy.

Honey with all respect due if you all got that storage unit when you found out about the 72-hour eviction you could have took those bed and those dressers and got them pushed into that unit you could have put those mattresses in sitting upright slid to the back corner of the storage unit and then you could have took those dressers slid those in going up against the wall of the unit and took the other dressers the smaller ones or nightstands and flipped them upside down on top of the bigger or longer dresses and then went to stacking from there but if you already had the storage unit before that then I get it I understand it the only way you could have made it work was if y'all started unpacking the storage unit and then repacking and that is a whole lot of work that'll be a whole day gone right there probably so yeah but those blankets that you had in the bag you could have tossed that s*** in the storage unit if you was able to take all those toys to the hotel room with you you could have sat there and took those blankets in the bag with you I don't know if you end up taking the blankets with you ultimately or if you did decide to let him stay at the house but if you let her stay at the house with all respect dude that's crazy because you had room in the storage unit to where you could have just threw them in there because you said storage unit not U-Haul and even if it was the U-Haul you still could have threw the bag of blankets in there and if you had packed better you could have got the beds and the dressers in there but I'm more than sure you was right when you said storage unit and you didn't miss speak but it's a learning lesson it definitely is but I'm hoping you never have to go through nothing like that again the only thing I can see you not being able to take with you and having to leave behind because it don't seem like it would have been any room for it in the storage unit is the couch I definitely can agree with that but yeah like I said those dressers the bed honey you could have made do with that and in all honesty your bed at best could have got slid into the storage unit from what you showed right there that that I guess middle space when you have walked in there to show it unless they have some type of rules regulations and guidelines stating that you have to leave x amount of room then that's different but that's far from what I seen you could have got at least a bed and a half in there or you could have set up there and slid them 22 3 long dressers you could have got your longer dresser and your brothers longer dresser slid into that spot and then took those smaller ones and flipped them upside down on top of it and then from there just stacked the mattresses on top you would have had to unscrew the Mirror part most definitely and wrap that up and try to get that in some other way you probably would have had to pull stuff out that was up against the wall of the storage unit in the very front to slide that in or you might have had to say f*** it and leave the mirror behind but where there's a will there's a way I wish that I I was around to help you because one thing for sure two for certain I know how to pack s*** I can pack a lot of s*** in a small space whether it's packing a bag or packing a closet or packing the storage unit or packing a room I am known for that people laugh at me because of how much s*** I can get into a small space and the stuff won't be tumbling out when you open the door or unzip the bag it might be crammed kind of tight you might have to look use a little forced to pull out the first piece of whatever or the first two three pieces at the most most but then from there it's smooth sailing especially if I tell the person look you're going to want to start with X Y and Z or I excuse me I apologize you're going to want to start with a B and C don't jump to xy&z because if you do that then everything all in between is going to come tumbling down or out LOL but yeah hon let me get back to the video you just showed the hotel room that y'all are at and you were saying it was a pool there so let me get back to the video stay warm stay cool depending on the climate people are in stay safe stay blessed and happy New Year

I used to evict people for a living (office manager for L&T law firm), you should’ve went to court and got another order to show cause to delay the process for 3-6 weeks
In whatever reason you got evicted from that house. Don't lose hope God is always with you and your family you just need to reach out to him in prayer. He will answer your prayers but, in his time all knowing what is best for you already.
That was a huge house...
At the end of the day you made lemonade out of lemons! God is so good! Have faith and trust in him and he will always see you through..

It is illegal in every state for a landlord to evict someone without sufficient notice, they will try it, that's why you need to know your rights

I was a single mother raising a boy by myself I had my struggles I was homeless been through a lot . We couldn’t find the summons that was initially sent to the house, but eventually we did. My mother went back to court an actually won the case once she got the chance to explain her side of the story. The landlord we had was trash they didn’t care about the property nor the tenant, it was always about the money. My mother is currently in the process of finding herself a place.
