I'm a grizzled commercial vet....strips are part of the required lighting tool-age. FYI: In "the old days", we would just mask the front of a conventional soft box, creating a narrow slit of light. But my two Godox 14"x64" strips offer TONS of utility....from product to portrait, in studio and on-location.* (I try NOT to have to break them down/reassemble- because my pair are a pain in the ass). Highly recommended mods....
That was great. Short, informative and to the point. Go, team!
Appreciate the video, a word of advice though, a "with" and "without" side to side comparison would visualise the effect of using the modifier and help the audience to understand it better.
Hey Guys, I used to follow you a few years ago and you suddenly left the scene. I learned so much from you both that I now shoot weddings, portraits, dogs and horses. One of your uploads that impressed and inspired me was when you were shooting with flash on a BMX trail. So glad to see you on the scene again, keep them coming.
Thank you, we had a blast doing that video (other than the mosquitos eating us alive). We are hoping to schedule more time to making videos!
i would have love to have seen a shot with all three of you to emphasis the point you made about a family portrait using that strip box. Great video. I'll grab mine today and see what I can do with it!
Fantastic, go get your strip box and go play! We will put the idea of a family in the lust of video ideas. Thanks
Great video! Thanks for making it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
I don’t knowhow I stumbled into your video but had to subscribe. You guys have great material. I look forward to owning my own strip box.
Thanks for subscribing. The Westcott Strip Box is such a great modifier. You can use code chop1023 on the westcott website for a nice discount.
Very well done! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
What is that curved tube on the top of your lightstand that moves the center pole just a few inches off center? I've never seen one!
great review and examples. This extension arm seems amazing to incline a 1x4 without using a heavy girafe boom ! more video on stripboxes (and their expensive grid) are welcome 🙂
You are right. The shorty arm from Westcott is awesome.
What is the 90 arm on the light stand in your 2nd set up?
it's a little offset arm from Westcott, we use it quite a bit when we do headshots. It's just offset enough to get your camera directly under a modifier.
What is that arm holding the light off centered?
it's a little offset arm from Westcott, (8" Shorty Offset Extension Arm, use "sticks23" for 10% off) we use it quite a bit when we do headshots. It's just offset enough to get your camera directly under a modifier.
Thanks! I gonna buy one of those!@@PanopticChopsticks
I just ordered from B&H 👍
what size is your strip box?
Thanks for watching we were using the Westcott Rapid Box Switch 1x4 Strip Box
I get it, you're making a vid, but I just can't watch a "photographer" who has no clue how to properly hold a camera. Definitely NOT subscribing.
Ummm, ok. Thanks for watching
