- One of India's finest actors and film makers Amol Palekar has been asked to shut up by members of the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai when he made critical remarks about the government allegedly trying to scrap a committee of artists. On Left Right and Centre, we ask who has the right to censor what Mr Palekar wanted to say. Does the government or its functionaries decide what can or cannot be said at an event at the National Gallery of Modern Art?

It is absolute intolerance of a different opinion. He could have been listened and feel ashamed about the people sitting in the program even a single one stood up and said let him speak whatever he wants. A clear indicator, how this country is going to develop in future !!!

Freedom of expression should be just like freedom of passing out pee & pup, no one should hold it, every one should get freedom to release it...holding it is harmful.

Dont listeners too have a freedom to mute acidic tongues. Should every event now become the Parliament house of India. People are called to such events to inspire the future generations and promote harmony but spewing venom is what happens in those literary events. To be fair people are now turned off by art events and are sticking to STEM events as they seem to be more uplifting. People want to dream about future not think of bad past and nightmares.

When I inquire then I came to know that this is happening with many..... People who do not allow to keep viewers opinion even on open platform.... The fact of the matter is if someone who is invited to speak on a topic misuses the forum to propagate his agenda then that person should be rightfully stopped. He has many other forums to pursue his agenda without hindrance like NDTV, hence curbing of his freedom of speech doesn't hold.
