  • A very open, typical "graben"-canyon in Germany. Quite a long ascent and lots of hiking and downclimbing in the canyon. The highlights of the canyon are the four 20+ m rappels, as well as some smaller jumps and slides.
    Parking: 47°37'09.6"N 11°41'47.0"E
Ascent: Follow the B307 west and take a left at the farm after 300 m. Cross the bridge, and follow the path that leads you to a wide dirt road. Follow the road for about an hour until you reach a sharp right turn (47°36'04.3"N 11°41'27.8"E) at which point a small path branches off to the left. Follow the path up for another 30 mins until it leads you down into the Totengraben. (1h 20 min)
Descent: Lots of walking and downclimbing, occasionally quite slippery. Some jumps, four "bigger" rappels. Not great, not horrible. 3h
The way back: After the Totengraben (or Kirchwandgraben) is joined by the Plattengraben the is an exit option on the left, which takes you back up to the road in a few minutes. Alternatively, keep going in the river bed until you reach the bridge. From here, follow the same path back to the car. 20 min

Weer indrukwekkend mooi. Op deze manier kan ik genieten van een stuk natuur dat ik nooit in werkelijkheid zal zien
