- Welcome back, everyone. I have another great video. I ended up coming home from Lawrence Kansas. I had to stop at The Crossing for an eastbound manifest. Also, I noticed there was a westbound coming, so I moved over their Main St Crossing and much more. Thank you for watching, and remember we're always Trackside, and you all have a wonderful day, and God bless.
When I went to school in Perry in the late 70s, the center siding acted as the crossover between the main tracks here, and there was one at Grantville , too. This was before all those crossovers were built at Grantville, Medina and Buck Creek. I remember the grain cars loaded at Perry, alfalfa at Grantville and Midland, and propane dealers at Grantville and Williamstown would get those huge tank cars.
I wish they still did that, and I bet that was fun to see there so much history with the Union Pacific Railroad in Perry and Lawrence, too
@@GreyBeardTrains I grew up in Grantville near the tracks. I even remember the DD35s, U50s and the Rock Island going through
The old Rock Island went under 24 HWY in Topeka
@@GreyBeardTrains Yes I remember them switching Goodyear. Of course that was the abandoned line to St. Joseph
What kind of loads were in those former Tropicana boxcars?
Don't know
