  • Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to Men In Black III (2012). In this epic sci-fi adventure, we follow Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) as they travel back in time to save the world from a new alien threat.
In "Men In Black III," Agent J must journey back to 1969 to prevent the assassination of a young Agent K (played by Josh Brolin) and stop an evil alien named Boris the Animal from altering the course of history.
Guys! We are so happy they stuck the landing with this one. Men In Black III aka Men In Black 3 exceeded all of our expectations and placed itself closer to the first film in terms of quality. The incredible storytelling came back once more and stronger than ever.
This film was packed with hilarious moments, intense action scenes, and heartwarming moments that make this film our favorite in the Men In Black series so far. The retro alien gadgets were so cool to witness and the iconic historical settings were an awesome addition, this movie is packed with surprises and excitement.
We hope that you enjoy our reactions, commentary and review as we discuss the film's hilarious moments, groundbreaking special effects, and the dynamic chemistry between Smith, Jones and Brolin.

It's a tragic tale about K's relationship with O. Remember he had a crush on another woman in the first movie. In the photos K showed J before getting coffee with the worm guys, there was a picture of a man giving the aliens flowers. In the Animated Series, that man was indeed K and he was originally going to give the flowers to his date but he stumbled upon an alien landing and was recruited by MiB. K still harbored feelings for his old crush seeing that he was peeking in on her via satellite. It probably goes then, that K tried to move on and try to date O, but he couldn't get his old crush out of his mind. And the tragedy is that K's old crush was just not into looking at the stars as he was and that's is why she left him in MiB2 after his retirement. K probably couldn't bring himself to neuralyze himself of his memory of her or maybe couldn't because she was a childhood friend and that would obliterate his mind.

Rip Torn, the actor for Zedd died only a few years back. However, during the filming of MIB3, he had been arrested for drunk driving, hence the change. I think overall it works though.
The woman in K's apartment is the woman who J told to ask out his former partner T in MIB2(after he told him to get married and have a bunch of kids).
"Where you been man? It was like an hour ago!" LMAO, never fails to make me laugh.
This time, Will Smith got the slap from O.
The dog actor for Frank the Pug passed away before MIB3, so he appears as a picture in J's room and as an attraction for the carnival(on the billboard).
Boris(the Animal)mocking the hippies with that laugh kills me every time.
    "K....Pasa?" XD!
    K:"What's your gal's name?"
    J:"Shhhhttarron?"
    K:"SHTARON?!!!"
Lol, that was actually a pretty good lie before.
"K, did you ever flashy thing me?"
    "No."
Love MIB best of the trilogy, but this one is a very close second.

The creature on the stove next to the wok is a blobfish, which is a real, extremely rare deep sea fish that due to its lack of scales and possessing of small, weak bones, collapses into the state seen in the movie. The fish entered pop culture around the time of the movie, and has no predators other than fishermen, which is ironic given that the flesh of the blobfish is highly acidic and not edible.

This is how you make sequel. Not only it it takes everything that is good in first film, it elevates them but it also makes first film deeper but good story telling and character arc that gives beautiful end for characters. Apparently Josh Brolin was so good imitating Tommy Lee Jones that Will Smith started to have troubles setting them apart. He would often turn Brolin and then go, "wait you're Not Tommy Lee.... " and vice versa.

one of those trilogies that doesnt feel like just cash cows. all of them, even the second one, all add up to a nice solid emotional send off. whether they intended it or not even the other movies have moments that with this context make more sense, like k being especially adamant in vouching for j.
that interaction between j thanking k and him responding its been my previlege, its one of those moment where you can tell its not just characters talking. just an awesome trilogy overall. one interesting observation to finish, if you look at modern mib, it feels more like an airport, but if you look at early mib, it feels more like a presinct, wich is a nice sign of their own personal approach to alien species coming to earth. i feel like its a nice piece of worldbuilding that goes often unnoticed.

The ending of this one brings everything full circle, especially why K fought to get J into MIB and why he was so distant in the first 2 films. Josh Brolin was great as a young K, and I think Alice Eve and Emma Thompson as O was brilliant casting! Boris made me think of the legendary wrestler Randy Savage, and Griffin made me think of a young Robin Williams. I knew that the waterworks would start in the last 10 minutes, especially for Denise! 😢 So happy that you guys got to this one so quickly, and I loved rewatching it with you! ❤❤

Oddly enough, this was the first MiB movie I saw and I was 9 or 10 I think. I was at my Dad's apartment and we were watching on spectrum cable or Cox(I can't remember), and he turned it on at the part where J tells K the real reason why he jumped back.
I would then ask my mom and stepdad to rent it from the store and watch it ten more times. My nana even recorded it on her TV when I asked her. Yes I was that obsessed with this movie. At some point a couple weeks or months after, my brother and I rented and watched the first two. I think I liked the first one better than the second.
I'm 21 now and I haven't seen the MiB movies since then. Now understanding what I saw, and the third movie is still my favorite.
I love watching your guys' reaction to it. As someone who also wanted to dive into storytelling, it was great hearing your perspective on the film. Take care! :)
