    Do you place them outside after this work or do you keep them protected from the weather?

  • @timothyvanheerden8105

    Nice work. Just a few questions pls.
    I'm in south africa and i was taught at my club that jbp should have their roots worked on in oct month.(your april). Do you also do this type of work later? March/april?
    I also have some jbp seedlings in a tray atm. Germinated in oct,so they are roughly 3 months old. Should i leave them till our spring to repot? It's very hot here atm. Mid 30's c.
    Thanks.

    Hey corin great video . I just bought one of these last year. This year i want to approach graft one of its own branches into the trunk how do i know when the branch has taken to cut it? Will the trunk roll over the graft? Also had one person tell me to just fit the graft into the trunk without skinning back to the cambium on the graft and it will still take. Would this be ur preffered method or skin the cambium and line it up with the trunks cambium? Thanks corin

    Hi Corin, I see you use a 1/1/1 mix of akadama, kiryu and pumice. I always thought kiryu is the same as pumice. Could you change the kiryu to lava instead?

    • @greenwoodbonsaistudio
      @greenwoodbonsaistudio  Před rokem +1

      I'd say pumice and lava are more similar, so if you use lava, pumice and akadama, it will be very free draining. So depends on your climate (not sure where you are) and how you water.

    I am surprised to see the black pines up in Nottingham. Peter Warren has mentioned that he does not grow them due to the lack of sufficient light for them to prosper so he mainly favors Scotts pine. I believe he is in the London area.

      @@greenwoodbonsaistudio Do you often get 2 flushes of growth a year on them? I remember him saying his successful customers had to grow them under lights so maybe that was what he was talking about-need to go back and rewatch that video.

    • @blueridgebonsai9155
      @blueridgebonsai9155 Před rokem

      OK, I checked and he was referring to the problem with getting double flushes from black pone due to the variability in weather in England where a wet, rainy, cool summer may result in the second flush not coming on after decandling in late spring. It is at 18:40 in his video on pine candle pinching.
