Only in kpop is this made to be such a big deal, idols afraid to interact & follow each other on social media this is mainly due to fanwars and the toxic, jealous fans that exist. Also, they probably worry they will lose their fans support. The hate V got for following T.O.P & Jennie, whether intentionally or accidentally, it doesn't matter and then apologising for it was just ridiculous. Idols be free to follow who the hell they want. Fans know your limits and boundaries, you don't own or control their lives, who they associate with is never your business.

I know they have hidden follows because Yuqi once accidentally friended another idol outside her group on her main follows, only to realize what she done an hour later and suddenly that person was gone. I think I heard something similar with Lisa. You know a lot of them are in contact privately because occasionally things will slip where you'll learn that they are in a group chat or talking on the phone with each other. Plus randomly you'll have pairings you never thought of suddenly spotted hanging out in public. So I think a lot of idol friendships are hidden because of privacy, company rules, and brand deals.

Theres already too much cases when ppl u follow suddenly goes into scandal and got cancelled. They will assume if u follow them u also included (seungri). And also cases when idol too free to update on soc med fanbase can cause kisunderstanding and cancel u (t-ara twitter bully) so its safer to not doing anything at all. Rather than risking it all without much benefit to the user. Kpop agencies damage control also sucks. So its better to prevent than to heal

I wish fans would grow up and realize that their idols are humans who needs friends outside their group. I wish idols would grow balls and follow whoever they want on social media. Because although most fans are supportive, there are a few who are incredibly toxic, and would make trouble for the people their respective idol like. The k-pop industry needs to wake up and start explodind the delusional bubbles these fans created in their heada and they're letting happen.
Most of these toxic behaviours are happening because the idols keep letting "fans" get away with it.
But in the end i honestly feel bad for them, cause i'm sure most of these behaviours have been conditioned into them from a VERY young age.
The problem is that companies continue to fuel this so called BF/GF fantasy with fans making them so delusional and toxic. These dirty tricks brings in huge profits for companies. A normal K-pop fan will buy one album while a delusional fan will buy an entire box of albums. This benefits the companies while it hurts idols mentally and socially.

The only fandom who hate their idol for accidentally follow or other nonsense is Army and they never hate any other members they only harass and send d@ath threat to Taehyung and his family, they were calling him all the names under the sun when he followed one of Bigbang members because they call them criminals but supported and praise when Jimin collaborated one of them and Suga interviewed him, so that hypocrite fandom only harass Taehyung, they don’t support his solo work but act they own him, they don’t respect him and don’t treat him as individuals human who is free and can do whatever he wants like rest of the members, hope he leaves Hybe soon.

no cs this is true the f**king recommendation list of following acc is soo fricken tricky. the first time i tried to follow PARK jimin it didn't go as plan. I typed up jimin just jimin and i just followed the first jimin user name that popped up cs it was my first encounter with BTS let alone K-pop and since back then BTS didn't have any social media account that is on Instagram they didn't, so i just followed the first name and the name that had the verified badge and also bc i only knew them for their first name so i thought there was only one celeb named jimin but until i got a notification saying 'shinjimin' has posted i was sooo fricken excited cs i was new and i got to feel that feeling of living in the same moment as the updates are happening. Pressed on it was an ENTIRELY different person broo since i didn't know her and i wasn't interested in any other groups apart from BTS and Black pink i unfollowed but the funny thing is i didn't even know Black pink was Black pink if you know what i mean i just knew them through fan made Bangpink vids and fake subtitles so i just was drawn to them and thought everything was real until i realized that BTS and Black Pink are entirely different groups i didn't even know there were groups i thought they were just like soloist but in an actors and actresses way they collaborate with different ppl every time.
