Rompiendo el record de altitud de mi avión, 15,600 ft ASL con un motor Rotax 503 DCDI sobre Lagos de Moreno! FP-202 Koala @ 15,600 ft ASL with a Rotax 503 DCDI Great!
Our airfield is located at 6200 ft so I'm used to high altitudes. However, I didn't went any higher (you can see in the video the plane still climbing 200 ft/min) because I did not want to get hypoxia. This plane is quite a performer! behaves like a big plane and at the same time is very forgiving. It takes you places! Mine was built 23 years ago it it hasn't aged a bit!
What motor do you have in your plane? I noticed you have a carbon fiber panel instead of the traditional wood panel. How much weight does that shave off? We're are you located at?
Hi! It is a Rotax 503 DCDI 50HP The panel is wood, covered with a vynil printed with a carbon fiber pattern, =) We are in Leon, Mexico The engine has enough power to take off with full fuel (50 liters with an auxiliary tank) camping gear and myself, (540 lb) @ 6200 ft in less than 900 ft of runway
I've watched this a dozen times at least...I'm restoring a crashed Koala that was built in 84/85...flew 33yrs...crashed in summer of 17 and given to me...thanks for the video, it's very inspiring.
Where is your nav/com? Do you have a transponder?
Amazing!!!!!!
Somebody outside youtube asked me about our airfield's altitude: 6,200 ft. So I was flying 15,600 ft ASL and 9,400 AGL
ha Awesome!!
What is the max pilot weight for the FP-202 Koala? Ultralight flying is a dream of mine, but I'm a pretty big dude.
MSFS will teach that thin air is for parachutes
are you serious! how the hell was you able to get that high and without oxygen?awesome though
