Evil bastards are trawling through them to have the majority of anything indicative of the era in which they were set, removed / replaced. Things that were much more common and acceptable at the time are being removed because there's no room for historical accuracy in this day and age.

So the dude basically killed his soul. At that point bond knew he had to die. Because one, he needed to make sure they were safe and two, he didn’t want to live an empty life which is what Blofeld wanted.

But Craig's emotional and vulnerable 007 made us care for him for real.
