Nice job guys. Very well done. Yes I agree, Theoden great, Snowmane not so much. Tail and Unicorn mane is a big issue for me. Andy Mee maybe called upon to create some custom tails for this one. Hopefully, the tail will be detachable.

Great video guys! Fun to watch the discussion. Im still a bit toen myself, not a fan of the pose. But this moment is "iconic" and a must have. It will probably all come down to price... Cant say what i am willing to pay or where my limit lies, its more of a gut feeling. Same for Grey Havens, the moment i saw the price i thought it was just too much. We'll see this Wednesday!
I totally get the critiques of people and agree to some degree. The sword-arm blocking his head in the side view is less than ideal and I think Weta should pull back a bit on their artisitic freedom and stay closer to what we see on film. But I'll definitely get this piece because despite of some suboptimal choices, this is INSANELY beautiful. Plus some of the old SSW pieces are kind of weird in regards to the pose too, but have grown on me all the more. - It's like with weird personalities that need some time to get used to but are kind of intriguing for that exact reason. 😁 And one thing is for sure imo: This will probably be the only mounted Theoden we'll ever see. So either buckle up, miss out completely or pay secondary.
By the way, that french guy is actually Swiss. 😉😆
Absolutely nailed the details and paintwork. But my own personal preference would’ve been more forward looking Theoden (not screaming death) and less dynamic pose for Snowmane.
As a statue collector, the details was very attractive on it, and the overall concept and dynamics fully express the touching scene of the movie, which definitely makes up for the little regret of the tail (but it doesn't affect me actually)
And based on Q4 shipments of this year, I believe the factory has entered the production stage, so the chance of tail changes does not seem to happen.
Already ordered anyway👍🏻 In fact this one is my first weta piece🙂looking forward to the final product.

Awesome video and actually helps to see what 4 different collectors think of this piece. I am more like Valkrist when deciding what statue im gonna buy. I want them to be screen accurate. Not the best pose choice by weta in this case though the details are one of the best I’ve seen from weta.
I would like to also add that Gil Galad is actually lighter than what Weta says on their website
So no Theoden can be different too from what it’s written.

Insane amount of details on this one. This is by far the best armor design from the movie.
Tail and mane look super weird in my opinion 😅 think anyone needs their head checking if you are going to $999 for that!
Really, it depends on price. Living in our earth's Middle Earth (nz) our currency is 💩 but I have been waiting for this release of theoden for a long while
$999 according to the website 😅 could build a whole Rohan army with that money!
The tail is the only thing I don't like
Im still waiting for Weta to (hopefully within a couple of months) release the Witchking 1:6 (RotK version) and I also do have an image in my head and know what I want it to look like to the point where I’m praying for it not to disappoint me when it happens 🤞🏻
The WK of Unseen Lands that they’ve released recently is pretty spectacular and it looks sinister so I’m going to be getting this one for sure just hope to get the rotk version of him as well
I desperately want it as well but I would be surprised if they release an RotK version that close to the spectral form. Main question is, would they make it a Classic Series as well, or are they going for a way more ambitious approach due to the recent CS version

@@krzychuk.6364 I have a feeling they thought the market was saturated when it came to the RotK Witch-king (although we are talking 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 scale statues, and lifesize bust,) so they delayed it and released the new CS statue instead. I'm sure they already have a concept and everything, it's been way too long
It's a good piece, and regardless of the tail collectors will get him for sure.

Tyler, this video intro is one of the best I've ever seen - how long did you have to work on your timing to get the shouts of "death!" to be in sync with the head shots?? Perfection.
Haha I honestly kinda guessed where I thought that would be for the audio, put the pictures on and everything lined up perfectly on the first try so maybe 5 minutes!
