The only thing I think they should have done on the TCR that they didn't do is offer bucket seats like the Clubsport had. Those are wicked.
I agree, feel like the Clubsport just had those few extras that made it feel more special compared to this
I like how genuine you are from being a golf fan boy. You hold the cupra with true honest high regard even though you know it may not appeal to everyone because it doesn’t have the vw badge.
If they had this in a manual I’d be interested. But oh well. Least the cupra and golf r still has them.
My TCR has 1400 miles on the clock now and the Akrapovic exhaust is really bedding in nicely. Loads more pops and bangs then when new and sounds awesome on the overrun once hot 👍🏻

On the TCR definitely wouldnt take the £600 decals option with those hex shapes so good to see this without them.
That tornado paint makes me fall in love with red again. Such a deep red. Very nice.

I tested it out today but dude this thing has no grip at all on launching or on full throttle on low speeds ... for the same money here in eu u get an R or for 3 to 4k more an S3

That car is mint..inside and out..can't fault it upon first seeing it in this vid. What a tough choice between that..a Clubsport S..an R and a Cupra....I think the German Market spoil us Brits as a society..and we appreciate it....:)....

Isnt the engine in the tcr the same as the 245 performance gti just the is38. If u look on apr site they do a is38 conversation with the same ppf downpipe with a map and it pulls the same power as a tcr mapped.

Hi Wayne, thank you. It’s a bit more exciting than an R to drive, as it’s FWD so moves around a bit. Depends what you’re after, if you’re not going to miss the grip from the R then it’s a good shout

I had a e46 m3 before hand so not sure what's going on with my thoughts towards the r I carnt seem to settle with it ,not realy blown over by the performance , also have a ed 30 in my garage which feels so much lighter than the r ..thanks again look forward to your nxt video 👍👍

Hmmmm....I wonder if that exhaust and diffuser would be a plug and play on the Golf R. Without even doing a quick Google search, it seems that the GTI Akrapovic axle-back would be cheaper and lighter than the Golf R version. I have always thought that one or two exhaust tips were plenty (aesthetically speaking) for a four cylinder engine- four is kind of silly. And the diffuser looks agressive to my eyes without being outlandish too. I think those parts would add a unique OEM plus look to the R.
You know Hamza you're channel is a breathe of fresh air mate. You dont go ramming shite merchandise of questionable quality (do ppl actually buy that shite?), not interested to forcing fucking patroen at every point and also not hiding you're videos behind a patroen paywall. But most of all mate youre a lad who loves cars and you are not trying or thinking you will be the next Clarkson. FYD, Lockwood and 😂 Jesse and the rest of them could learn a few from yourself. I have one and i like it so much. The steering and the power are ik insane, only when its raining you need to take care🤣

How is the Club sport S better than the TCR? I thought (may be wrong) the TCR had been pitched as the highest performance GTI?

The Clubsport ‘S’ was a special limited model, the TCR is more of a replacement to the regular Clubsport ‘Edition 40’

7.5 GTI out of those bro, but honestly they’re all so different. The 3 series will be the best to cruise in/do long miles. I wouldn’t even consider the A class personally

Great vid however I prefer my Golf R. I'd rather trade a tad more weight for all year round grip and traction. It's a pity you didnt compare it more to the R in the vid, but a great vid nonetheless. One other thing, you can currently get a Cupra 290 for £2K down and just over £200 a month on a lease. Try getting that kind of deal on a TCR :-)
Wouldn’t be any point comparing it to an R, as they’re very different cars. To me this should only be compared with other FWD rivals/siblings, such as the Cupra you mentioned. And I agree, they’re great value.

I was looking at the TCR but decided to go for the Focus ST instead. Yeah the Golf is a nice car, but it’s not as exciting as it should be.

It's basically a Cupra,similar brakes and suspension setup and the same LSD. Even sounds the same!

It’s slightly better but still there, I put it down to the Cup 2’s on this car. Noticed a lot more wheel hop on the tighter damp roads, where the cup 2’s weren’t hooking up well

It’s got a totally different set up to a normal GTI, so no you can’t just ‘modify a standard one’
Different engine in theory to a standard gti has different internals so standard gti wouldn’t be the same
I mean in general, ik the tcr has forged internals, but for most of us it makes more sense to get a tune and upgrade parts no? nevertheless great vid hamza enjoyed it

As he said, it was a demonstrator so was actively being used. One of the staff will have used it as their daily car

Well it has 443 miles on it already in the video, so isn't delivery mileage.

Tcr was the best car ive ever bought
I hope the IS38 turbo in these newer cars has been revised because the is afew issues with the play in the turbo shaft and because the housing or what ever it is is made from teflon its a disaster if your looking to remap these turbos. I have a 2015 Seat Leon Cupra 280 and when i went to see Nicky at R-Tech they checked the play in the turbo and advise me not to go ahead with the remap! Total disaster when i traveled from Leeds! It effects 1 in 20 of these engines with the same IS38 turbo! 🤬🤬🤬
2014 and 2015 year models were prone to turbo failure. Next years models are safer. Revised turbos.
pokest225 i have still heard of failures on 2017 models too. What are my options as to getting the play in the turbo shaft sorted without breaking the bank?
@@peterbennpan7288 very little amount of late year models had failure. And these failures are produced by very aggressive tuning and abuse. In my view they are as safe as any other brand.

TR Hamza haha! Good man. I was messing with you. I have a tastefully modded EP3 Premier edition for the weekends, a diesel Golf for the commute and a 3.0 Q5 Quattro for taking the kids to school! So you could say I’m a fan of all marques. They all have their merits.
I’m undecided if I should boost my EP3. Not new to Honda’s but part of me will miss the high RPM screaming NA madness.
