I Love southeastern class 465, class 375 and 377’s
I liked these trains when i was a kid in the 90s. Back then they had NSE livery.
Those Were The Good Ol Days
How come no new videos. I really like them.
Your love for the 465 sashays through every frame of this video. It was sheer joy to see them the way you do! As a train enthusiast myself, I was thrilled no end!
makes me feel old that these are 30. one of my first memories of a train was a networker back in 2002 when i was small lol
The 465’s/466’s are the only reason why I’m sad, that I don’t live over South lol.
Brilliant video, brings back memories. I miss the comfy old 365 networkers on the ECML, they've all been replaced with the uncomfortable-seated class 700s (although in balance, the air conditioning and walk-through carriages kinda make up for that I guess).
I’ll have the pleasure of bringing one from Faversham to Victoria on New Years Day afternoon.
hope the journey was good :)
This video is a little gem, perfect in every way.
Wishing you a very happy New Year and all the best for many more like this in 2023.
Oh, and I remember the 465s coming into service and the dusty-beyond-belief far comfier seats on the EPBs and 4-Subs which they replaced.
Hope your ok and still going to be uploading more videos as I'm a new subscriber and im watching your videos.
Good luck
My favourite class in the UK.
I used to love the way they sound when I was 12-13. Now I would like to get new faster trains in my area. (SE London).
Brooo waiting on a new upload 😭🙏🏾
It's sad that SE has neglected these units though especially of how good these trains used to be, it's unfortunate the /2s are gone completely now because of reliability issues and now the /9s showing their bodywork issues in terms of rust and corrosion. These could of been used for a bit more longer had they been maintained properly they'll still be my favourite trains though, great video as well enjoyed the information and editing!
It's not neglect. The 376s don't have the same issues with the same level of maintenance. Stop trying to defend Alstom/GEC - it's just bad build quality because the BRELS don't have the same issues
Yes !!yes !!and yes !!!! My favourite unit for sure. Metro cammels are My favourites.
Mine too - absolutely!
My favourite trains - I hope they never get rid of them! Comfortable, smooth and level with the platforms, unlike the more recent train models where there's a big gap or a big step up. And the 465s with thyristors sound amazing!
Happy new year, this video buzzes with personality I love it
Peak stuff my dude. Shall be returning for London for more haulage soon! 465/9s do it best.
Absolutely awesome video Nathan, I love the content you produce, it's going to be soo odd when the rest of the 465s start going in 2027, gotta make the most of them while they are around. Keep up the awesome work mate and have a blessed 2023 😁👍
@Southeastern Hub Unfortunately there going to. And 465s aren't the coolest of trains because they keep breaking down too often now, so they badly need a refresh of new and reliable trains.
@The Train Enthusiast The Class 707s are only replacing the 465/2s which are all in storage and some 466s. Southeastern need to order more new trains to replace the rest of the networkers, they'll need another 500+ new carriages to do that.
I think we should campaign for Southeastern to keep the 465s and maintain them well.
@@dianastevenson131 Don't be daft, Diana - they're getting way too old now.
Special fact, 465 metro cammels/ alstom are one of the fastest accelerating units on third rail from the 90s, the BREL /ABBs aren't the quickest, but are still Good!.
The BRELS are not that good, let's not exaggerate.
@Solomon_C accelerationwise. No but they are okay witu regard to their build and ride quality. Butbalso remember they are following a 30 year old standard . So it's not like they were built in today's age.
@@bb-3653 OK I was jut confused because you said they were still good. You obviously mistyped or got confused.
@Solomon_C They operate pretty smoothly ? I don't see serious performance issues at all tbh
@@bb-3653 There are units that beat them acceleration wise, plus the reliability is below that of the /9s.
For one, the 376s run rings around them. If you think a 465 BREL can compete with a 376 I suggest you time them both in the same location. You'll find a 376 easily wins even using less power
Happy New Year Nathan and keep up the good work. I really enjoy your content & format.
Happy new year! and thank you :)
best train ever
1996 stock imo
@@B9TL205 Not in my opinion. They are nicer and sound better than Southeastern trains. They also look better.
If you’re talking about the 1972 and 1973 stocks, then I agree with you.
Um debatable I would say
@@timothyleberl1202 Are you replying to Choppership or me?
@@eastlancsesteem Both to be honest
Great job Nathan! Great laughs and informative! Looking forward to your next vids, keep going!
Great vid! I love the 465s
Nice to see you back. I will miss the Class 465 and Class 466 Networkers once they have gone and replaced by new rolling stocks. And with Southeastern having the rest of the Class 707s from South Western Railway.
I do think that Southeastern should keep the Class 465 and Class 466 until they are like 40+ years old and replace them with new trains.
They definitely will not survive till 2032 at least, they'll all be gone by 2030.
I hope so too!!
I hope trains have more soul again by then. I miss all the random popping and hissing from the old BREL trains and from the Düwag trams and subways in West German cities with their buzzing noises, folding doors, wooden surfaces inside and the squishy seats. At some point, transport operators decided to make everything too fridge-like.
If so then GWR and Chiltern Railways should keep their Class 165 & Class 166 Networker DMUs for another 10 years. Unless they too are looking into replacing them with new rolling stocks.
@@networknathanwill SouthEastern keep the class 465 and 466 forever?
Brilliantly done again Nathan...having never been on a 365...I'm now strangely drawn to them😀...oh loving the T shirt....Happy New year to you and yours..... and keep the vlogs coming
aha same, i had only seen them, never travelled on one. happy new year!!
Loved the intro... Too funny!!!
Got this video randomly recommended and gotta say i absolutely love your editing and presentation style :)
Brilliant Nathan! Caught a couple of them today running through to Charlton. 30 years of these nimble, comfy stalwarts. Also where can I get one of those shirts?!
Cool. I wonder when the new ones will come
Thank you Nathan, as always. Happy New Year.
Happy new year! have a good one
I miss their old yellow door and grey stripe livery. It was my childhood of getting on them at Wye, along with the 375
Like driving them on trainsim 3
Great stuff :) even tho I’m up north and don’t get to see them much i love these units, great video :)))
I preferred what came before! The Class 415 {4 EPB) & Class 416 (2 EPB) along with the Class 413 (4 CAP) & Class 414 (2 HAP) they all had character they all had comfy seats but more importantly they had soul and were warm all year round the Networkers always seemed soulless to me devoid of character! The EPBs even in their elder years performed well above what was expected of them! More importantly even if something on them went wrong ie losing a motor coach they would soldier on to the destination with the remaining 1 and then go out of service to depot or sidings and then marked (Not To Be Moved) or stuck with a red label saying "one way trip to Slade Green/Selhurst/Wimbledon Park"
Well EPBs had deep sprung seats! Their name EPB stood for Electro-Pneumatic Brake but it had a more colloquial name

Man know nuff about trains u know. Yes bredda gud to have that passion keep it up
The one major improvement over the likes of the 4EPBs was the end of non corridor compartments, highlighted in a murder in one of the compartments in 1988. These trains offered gangways, and thus increased security.
Fact about the 465 is they always catch on fire
Hi!!! Well done on your channel! I'm James.
What you do is amazing and if i told you, we actually know eachother, what would you say!!
lovely video
This is such a great channel
Nice 🔥
Please come back.
Yeah, no upload in 8 months :(
At the end you scared me with how close you were to the gap!
Southeastern have just announced that they're taking bids for replacement of the 465s
That start cracked me up 😂. Having to put up with using these trains, living in South East London for 20 years, they desperately need a full refurb and deep clean. We really need TfL to take over the line 🙁
I've been watching a bunch of different public transport channels lately and I realised I haven't seen any uploads from you in a while. I hope you're well!
How is that opening not going viral?
When I was a kid in the 90s, getting a train would mean either a 465 or a 423.
I think the 365s were all converted to 465.
Also, I thought the 465/9s had a higher top speed, at the expense of acceleration speed. They were re-geared. I might be wrong though.
You are wrong. 465/9s go 75 and have much faster acceleration than the BREL units.
@@Solomon_C the long distance units have better acceleration than the suburban ones? Seems a bit backwards lol
@@LeeSmith-cf1vo What I'm saying:
The 465/9s were not re-geared.
The 465/9s have better acceleration than the BRELS so yes the long distance units are pretty dominant down the drag strip.
That clear it up for you?
I feel like the S stock and some Aventura's are influenced by Networker train design
?
Passing diesels in the outro... Class 37's top and tail?
ate
or london bridge and deptford
I think 165/166 are now in the West Country, no?
yes!!
I think Southeastern wants to get rid of these. Networkers, obviously, not my favourite but in my opinion, most encouraging, more energetic then the later electrostars turbostars and even the eventras and irreplaceable.
When have 465s ever looked like 376s? Do you mean the livery?
Yeah he meant the livery. It won't be long before the 376s turn blue either as they are getting refurbished throughout 2023.
I hate the 376s - such a big gap with the platforms, and the doors often don't open so people have to run to the next door.
@@dianastevenson131 OK, Diana, I agree with you on this.
The 376s are vile trains - bad adhesion, hard seats, unreliable heating and doors, terrible ride quality, and overall poor build quality.
They are nowhere near the level of quality of the older 375 electrostar. They should've been built more like the 375s.
100 likes away from 465 😂
82 now!
To be honest the 465s look very dull and boring but not you sir. Keep up the good work.
30 YEAR OLD TRAIN THAT WANTS TO BURN IF IT IS COUPLED TO A BREL
