Ubisoft Staff Misconduct: Craig Robinson & Justin Kruger

  • Over the last few months, many Ubisoft employees and external partners of the company have come forward with stories surrounding allegations of a toxic work culture and misconduct. At least 10 senior Ubisoft executives are reported to have already been let go and there are continuing internal investigations into serious complaints.
With this in mind, I feel that it is finally time for me to come forward about the way that I have been treated by two particular Ubisoft staff members from the Montreal based Community Development team.
Justin Kruger, completely drunk, acted aggressively and threateningly towards me at the Rainbow Six Invitational 2019 and Craig Robinson abused his position in order to harm my personal and professional reputation over a personal matter.
In this video, I detail both incidents, as well as other cases that I know both Craig and Justin have been involved in. Their misconduct encompasses not only external community members but also Ubisoft staff members and hopefully, my testimony will encourage others to speak out and share their stories too.

I like Rogue and ubi looks to be a legitimately toxic culture. Having said that I have a problem with this video in that Rogue is presuming that just because HE didn't find anything he did to be unprofessional or harrassing doesn't mean SHE felt the same. People can have very very different feelings on the same situation. If she genuinely felt harassed or uncomfortable and reported it to her superiors then every single thing Craig/Ubi did is entirely justified. Even if Rogue doesn't feel the same.
It's also does not look like she was "stringing him along" even a little bit. It's very obvious that she was being nice while trying to avoid him.
I'm sorry that this happened as it seems to have taken a toll on you and I hope talking about it makes you feel better. But I just don't see the same story you are telling here. 🙏

The simplest explanation is, you give people power who are otherwise not use to having power or cannot handle power, and it goes to their head and corrupts them. You see it at all levels of management where there are ill suited people in charge of others and they get an ego and start thinking they can just shit all over everyone else below them. Power corrupts.

I'm interested to see if any changes are made that really make a difference. From it's core, the game feels rotten to me. People have already left the moderation team there because they didn't like what was going on behind the scenes and it's still as bad as it was 3 years ago. Ubisoft really needs to check every community leader they have. Even the horrible R6 Discord mods

One of my oldest friends heard from my ex that I sexually assaulted her. This was a complete lie, but he instantly cut all ties to me, blocked me on everything and refused to talk to me for over a year. My current gf also ended up hearing about it (almost a year after it happened) before we got together but she actually talked to me about it and I explained the situation. My friend only started talking to me again once one of his friends dated her and also got accused of sexual assault and he realised that maybe she’s not all that trustworthy.
I think the behaviour of that employee you talked to was absolutely vile. You could almost forgive her for playing with your heart like that if she truly had a lot going on and was just doing it by accident, but when she made the accusation it just confirms to me that she was being malicious. It was obvious she lost interest, but she didn't have the guts to outright say it, so yeah, she strung you along, hopefully this will help you in the future
If you're typing out paragraphs and theyre typing out a couple sentences, they aren't invested in the conversation
You should have picked up on that, BUT she can't expect you to pick up on these signs, especially through text where emotion is already near impossible to convey
She can't claim "harassment" when she said multiple times that she wasn't bothered by you reaching out to her and talking
But for future reference Rogue, if you feel the need to say "sorry am I bothering you" nearly every time you're talking to someone, you might be bothering them
You didnt harrass, you were a bit clingy because you had been talking to someone for months and they all of a sudden completely lose interest, so you want to try and salvage that, its a natural reaction, I've done it before, I have made those "long winded, whiny" texts and made an ass of myself, but never with someone I worked with and I never had higher ups trying to burn down my image for it
Sorry you're going through this, talk to a lawyer (haven't finished the video yet, maybe you already are) make sure you are covered legally, and sue these fucks

Narcissist acts selfishly, hurting the feelings of an understanding and patient person.
Narcissist gets offended when their own behaviour is even *slightly* criticized.
Narcissist then proceeds to use lies, manipulation, and rumour-milling to defame or otherwise damage the person so that the narcissist looks like the victim (and in this case, has other people jump to their defense).
Once you recognize that this type of person is more common than you would ever want to believe, it becomes easier to avoid them and spot the excuses they always use for their absolute shit behaviour.

Dude this community has so much love for you and I can safely say that many of us support you all the way. You're the first Siege creator that took analytics into their own hands and broke down weapon statistics and updates beyond the DevNotes to show players how the game really worked. Beyond that, you were one of the first Siege Academy videos that Ubisoft posted on the Uplay launcher and I was very proud (though unsurprised) to see you featured. You bring the hard facts and you do it very gracefully with an aura of levity and knowledge. I can't express how important you are to the Siege community and its very unfortunate that you've experienced any of this or had to make this video, but we appreciate it and we appreciate YOU. You invigorate the community and have even convinced me to return to the game when I took a break from Siege simply based on the intriguing or new information you have about new features. Without you, myself and many others might have left Siege and never returned. Ubisoft owes you a debt that can't be repaid and this whole situation seems entirely unfair. I really am hoping for your triumphant return back into the grace of Ubisoft as a company, but more than that I hope you get to see some kind of justice from all of this. I know life is rarely fair or just but for the health of Ubisoft's own community, and the sake of decency and honesty, I hope this is rectified in some way. We love ya Rogue, and we stand behind you! Am I the only person actually reading the conversation between rogue and this chick? If you just read the messages and look at the time stamps, rogue was pretty rude to this chick and kept asking her if they were cool just because she didn't want to play siege with him...
These aren't the full messages but everything he's shown so far doesn't implicate really anything other than rogue being really weird and awkward with this chick when she never outwardly expressed anything other than being friendly to him and he took it as "leading him on."
Then he goes on about how he has proof this dude's an ass yet doesn't reveal anything other than a group email reminding employees to be wary when talking to the community privately as things can get weird which is 100% true as we've seen.
That doesn't "prove she was in the wrong" just shows that things get weird when employee/community member relations get weird when it gets personal.
Obviously this dude blacklisting him for harassment or whatever is also completely unproven on both sides so it's up in the air but specifically with the employee rogue was talking to, if anything rogue looked like he was the one in the wrong there

Not trashing on the devs generally. It becomes obvious when you start listening to and seeing the types of people that keep showing up to this games development. They became more bro ish. More of that guy in high school that picks on kids for playing games because they play the "dumb" games. I've seen the type. It's what they are.

I'm sure this will be missed in the 1000 plus comment but I hope not. I applaud you in the way you've handled the situation but one thing I would say in regards to the DMs, stuff like "I'll stop if you want me to stop" (something along those lines) can be quite manipulative in the sense that it puts the pressure on the other person. Truthfully thinking it was 50/50 in terms of blame though, it was more personal than work.

At the end of the day the situation shouldve been kept internal to the girl and Rogue. It was just normal human miscommunication. Rogue should polish his social and flirting abilities to be less clingy and the girl should build the balls to strike people out of her dms when she isnt interested and she shouldnt outright call out false harrassment accusations.

This is why you don't target an intelligent person. Rogue9 explained all the harrasement against him better than a lot of people could do, some people might have had worse things happen to them but they propably won't be able to explain it in such detail and with clear proof. That is why this video is more important than people might think, having exposed something that a ubi employee tried to cover up is proof of how sneaky they can be and shows how difficult it is to get your story out there and be believed.
Imagine Craig Robinson manipulating a whole group of staff to cover up something as sexual assault, you would just be seen as the weird excommunicado nobody will talk or listen to.

i can’t blame the chick for any of this, should she have kept the topics of conversation with Rogue private? Yes. However none of us know her and judging from what rogue has shown in this video she could have had personal matters that were affecting her mental health. So you can’t blame her for reaching out to what is a close work colleague in Justin and seeking help. The fault has to lie with Justin as he abused his position of power and laid false claims about rogue and defamed his reputation

    • @ryanbolson23
      @ryanbolson23 Před 3 lety +79

@xIvDanny, you can’t blame her for any of this?
For instigating flirtatious relationships with multiple men to manipulate their emotions? For leading on Rouge for months and then ignoring him at the drop of a hat, toying with his emotions? Then out of spite that Rouge didn’t want to be her play thing, telling defamatory lies to her colleagues to manipulate them into smearing and tarnishing his reputation? You can’t blame her for any of that, really?
She’s not an innocent bystander who is just so helpless and gee golly she sure didn’t know this would happen. No. She knew what she was doing. She knew that she could say and get whatever she wants because she’s manipulated in the past and will continue to manipulate. That’s not ok, and shouldn’t be ignored nor celebrated. Using people regardless of the sex is wrong. Men have feelings too. They aren’t just play things that she can just toy with and use, then throw away when she’s had her fill. Shit like this is why male suicide rates are sky high. Because not only are men told to sit down and shut up when it comes to their emotions, they are expected to just take being manipulated by those they think care because to not do so instantly gets you punished based on nothing but lies! Just like rouge and many others.
So don’t you dare say she did nothing wrong. Everyone involved with this situation did something wrong. Whether it’s The Ubisoft employees, the girl in question, or Rouge himself. Everyone made some sort of lapse in judgment at some point during this ordeal.
And finally because this affects me personally and I take personal offense to this, don’t try and use mental health issues as an excuse to hurt others. If she is indeed suffering from mental issues such as depression, that in no way means it’s ok for her to mentally abuse the men in her life. It does not make it ok. It does not make it justifiable.
