I feel like trash boat is such a weird middle ground between pop-punk and hardcore and I love it so much
Jason Walter i just say its melodic hardcore.
stonedgamer 420 that's typically how I describe them because it's simple but some of their stuff (tring quarry, strangers) I think is much more pop-punk and I like that they kind of do both.
Tobi Duncan would call this "Easycore". His words in an interview once.
The thing is that Easycore is actually upbeat, Trash Boat it's not really upbeat tbh

Easy core is typically defined by taking the up beat stereotypes of pop/punk to the absolute extreme and push the boundaries of how intense and over the top they can take their music. I would like to cite Abandoned By Bears and Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! As prime examples of this particular flavor of pop/punk. I also will describe easycore as a “flavor” compared to a particular genre because I don’t personally feel that easycore is different enough from what also defines a pop/punk song. Thus I’ve concluded that the roots of the sub genre is and forever will be tied together and won’t be able to break out and have its own new developments.
