Before his match against Cody at Fyter Fest last year I had no idea who Darby Allin was. After? I became a believer. The Cracker Barrel Clash at All Out cemented my absolutely love for Darby. He’s genuinely my favorite wrestler in AEW ahead of Sammy Guevara. Future World Champion is Allin, he’s just incredible
I love AEW because it feels like family that's having fun and care about each other. And I feel a part of it .....oh and the "guys" are so talented they got my wife into wrestling. She's excited every Wednesday now 😄
Darby Allin living in a car is a tough situation to go through being homeless. Thankfully, he got his own place to live. He got a house with a wrestling ring. He got a big outside space to do his skateboarding. He train, sleep, and compete at AEW.
I liker Darby's shy & relaxed nature during this podcast. I really hope Darby becomes AEW World Champion one day. It may take a while he needs to continue to be built up slowly, but the pay off is going to be worth it. The TNT Championship meantime should be on his radar.

Yeah I had ZERO clue who Darby was until I saw him on AEW. He's such a great believable never say die Babyface. It's awesome to see a wrestler who is so damn different then 99% of wrestlers, get himself super over with fans!

I'd love to see Havoc and Swole. I wouldn't mind to see Statlander but it might nerf the gimmick a bit. I'd also be fascinated to see some Nyla Rose, Pac and Shida without dodgy subtitles. But if we were going to start, I'd say Havoc would be cool. Mr. One Direction fan. I'm loving his white suit right now.
Most of the wrestling interview podcasts are interchangeable. Between Colt, Jericho, Chris Van Viet and Unrestricted, I've heard the same stories so many times it's not even funny.

It's weird. It's the same questions, with him telling the same stories, and he's painfully shy/awkward. I don't mean that as a hater, because I really like Darby, but he's gotta open up a bit. He's eventually going to have to learn to deal with the spotlight, know how to steer a conversation, and take advantage of the media he is given.

With how he rehabs after, prepares before and only needing to do 1-2 matches a week, a very long time. Big difference between normally 1 match per week and 5, the wear/tear of being on the road 5 days a week is also killer where Darby pre-covid could be home 5 days a week and during Covid can sleep in his own bed 6 days a week given how close he lives to Jacksonville

I heard him talk about what he does to help maintain his body, but just because you want your body to keep going, doesn't mean it will. His and AEW's schedule may potentially change in the future. He may go to another promotion. A freak accident could mean he breaks his neck. He's like Jeff Hardy when he started. I'm sure Jeff felt no pain back then too. Not exactly the same these days and Darby potentially may push his body further.

How much of Jeff's H issue's(pain) are because of working a heavy schedule for years and starting when he was what 16 in the WWF(first match was May '94). working back to back nights weekly + travel wears the body down fast.

I think he's the most interesting and all around entertaining wrestler in AEW. Aside from maybe someone like Omega he's the tops. I wonder if they'll ever let him reach the top though.

When Darby wins his first AEW title, it better be in front of live crowd. Pulling the trigger on say him taking the TNT title off Cody off Full Gear in November(providing they can have a crowd of 10K+) would work... that crowd would explode.
Darby was wise to second guess goin to WWE. He would have definitely had his creativity stifled over there while in 205 live etc. He made a great point in regards to how some indie wrestlin' companies wait too long to release matches (video wise) to the public.
At least they would have made him drop the leggins and short shorts and gave him some decent pants. Love Darby but this super basic look doesnt fit to his spectacular ringvwork. Maybe Matt has one skate pant left over

Darby is one of those guys which became an instant fave of mine. This is what makes AEW special. It really is like Street Fighter come to life. It's got all body types and all sizes and all types of personalities and weird people... it's great. I also like that everyone has their look and continue to develop that. Because so many other companies, it's just a guy with black trunks and boots. Like the most generic look in existence. Half of what makes the image of a wrestler is his appearance. You really have to have the iconic appearance like a Marvel superhero. So far, Darby has that look. I'm sure it's far from the finished product and you will come up with an even more memorable look, but it's a great start. Orange Cassidy has the perfect iconic look. That light blue really stands out. Perfect 10. Him, the Young Bucks with their trademark tassle boots and jackets... Cody with the white hair and the supehero pants... all the costumes of Cody are HIM. Private party with the long jacket coattails. Love that stuff. Of course, Hangman with the cowboy gimmick. That's gold especially with that horse. Shida with the new red uniform --now she looks like straight out of a comic book. Speaking of comic books, Swole with the Storm outfit! very smart! Yuka Sakazaki with the fairy anime clothes. Nyla Rose looks straight out of Mortal Kombat. TH2 with the green and black. Jack Hager with the 80's polo shirt, dated slacks and the 80's TV hairdo is hilarious but effective especially as a heel. Reminds me of Jaws from James Bond. Your company has so many unique characters!
Darby is a rad dude. I have always been straightedge too, and when I was an indie wrestler for a few years I also definitely never took any pain pills, but to be fair my career was, you know, 1/100th as intense as his too, haha.
Darby is my favorite in AEW by some distance and would love him to face Minoru Suzuki some day, my all time favorite (Suzuki replaced Terry Funk as my all time favorite a few years back).
