Watching my mom cook. She would never let us help her, but somehow when I was on my own, I knew how to cook. I was a decent cook from the start. She was a great cook. She was Finnish. My grandparents migrated from Finland to America in the early 1900’s. Being from the Northlands yourself, I am sure you can understand. ☺️
I had a Swedish aunt. Your mom reminded me of her. Aunt Lila was a very kind sweet lady. She laughed all of the time like your mom. She a similar round face. She was an amazing cook too!

My best memory with my mother was cleaning growing up. She always turned up the music and we danced our way around the house cleaning. To this day, that's how I deep clean ☺

"Mum is not used to speaking English"
Speaks absolutely perfect English! Countries like Denmark, Sweden and Netherlands put us brits to shame with how well they speak the language. In England we don't learn other languages properly in school and its a real shame!
That’s because our own language doesn’t bring us very far, right :) With English you can go across the world and make yourself understandable.. With our language (for me it’s Dutch) we don’t get anywhere :D .. It’s not only because we learn at school, movies, series and music makes us so much better in it then what we learn at school!
If you don't have the English or American accent. To most Swedes that means you can not speak English properly.
It's a matter of necessity. English is the language of commerce and that isn't going to change.
"not used to speak english with him" doesnt mean she doesnt speak good english 😁
To be fair, we get exposed to English all the time. And one other thing, English speaking people get lazy to learn languages because so many others know English.
Mom, Chris blew the American audiences away with his rendition of Imagine. When someone can do a better job of singing that iconic song by John Lennon than the original, that is mind blowing! It’s definitely one of America’s Got Talent greatest moments!!

My best memory with my Mom was when I was little I slept in the same bed with her.
We were very poor then and it was only Mom and us 5 kids, me being the baby.(Dad left us)
She would talk to me in the dark telling me how much she loved me, telling me to pray to Bowluza(God in Polish) and to get up and brush my teeth if I hadn't! haha.
I would pray and pray for her to be healed.
Sadly she died from cancer when I was only 12 yrs old.
So obviously I admire people who have and love their moms.

I loved your mum, her laughter, humour and her voice, with a little more training I would love to hear a duet, her heart comes through and passion when singing. It would be great to get her lessons from Ken Templin..anyone can sing and I feel your mum would love it.

I closed my eyes and listened ... it was beautiful! Good for you mama! Tears started before you ever sang a note... LOVED that you were willing to do this with your son! How absolutely precious! You did amazing! Love your mother-son connection. I have 3 sons and adore them all.
My grandmother came to the state of Maine, USA at the age of 4. The State of Maine gave the Swedish people land and they worked hard to make a new life for themselves in New Sweden and Stockholm, Maine. I love my Swedish roots!

I’m a trucker and I found this before sleeping in a Walmart parking lot. Made me really miss my mom (shared it with her) and such an awesome reminder to laugh and love the time we are blessed to be with family and loved ones. Thanks Chris and Chris’s Mom 😊

You mum is precious...she is a good singer anyway. Love her giggling she seems like a lovely soul. But you pimped her voice so much better...as children we made all those noises imitating pheasants ducks hens and roosters and calling the cows to be milked!! Sometimes the higher range the better. I love how your mum said my voice disappeared 31 years ago when you were born. I always said that to my middle son when he said I had a terrible "flat" voice. When he was born I screamed so much without any painkillers that my voicebox must have been bruised and I was hoarse in speaking for 2 months after🤣😂🥰
