To the confused individuals in the comments, Nathan drake is not an archeologist but a thief with historical knowledge. This game was never about survival to begin with 💀 yes there are aspects of survival that could absolutely be implemented into the game considering the areas, dangers and terrain Drake gets involved in. However, that's not what they were going for.

I have a voice acting background and have to say that Nolan North's performance has been such an inspiration for me since the very first game. The vocal training was really tough, sometimes without noticeable results for months but actors like him and the late Kevin Conroy are a great impulse to not give up. You almost saw me as Leon in those new RE games :)

Uncharted is such a classic video game series. I wonder what Naughty Dog is up to now.
Gameology you need to give your expert some context as to what he's watching. Certain aspects of the game might make no sense unless you know the context of what's happening.
Those spiders in Uncharted 3 are surnatural anyway and are placed there by humans i think
And in Crushing/Brutal mode, you do die in 1 or 2 bullets and most of the setpieces you see in the games are only during like 4 or 5 hours or one day, so they wouldnt have problems to resupply, the longest setpiece in the series is when drake get lost in the desert for 2 or 3 days

Yeah I think context definitely matters here. This game is in no way meant to be taken real in any form. It had wendigos and some kinda zombie monster thing in it that you have to fight. And Nathan is pretty inhumanly strong considering all the things he does. Its definitely fantasy. And what Nathan Drake does is definitely not meant to be legal. He's a tomb raider same as Laura Croft. Don't think he was an archaeologist in the slightest. Personally I don't think this was a good game to judge on how realistic it is. It was never going for anything realistic like Red Dead did. Dope game series though!

I watched this video for about 5 seconds before thinking yea, this expert doesn't match Uncharted gameplay. I'd love to hear this guy's take on games like the Long Dark or something, though.

I think the best game for him to react to is Green Hell.
You would know what he was looking for if you played the game. It makes a lot of sense when you actually play it

I kinda feel like Donny would've been better suited to react to maybe The Last of Us. Y'know, a game ABOUT survival.
They honestly should've gotten an archeologist to react to Uncharted.
I think they could have done better on this episode. Especially with Donny Dust being the expert. They should have picked a game like Ark or something along those lines. Far Cry Primal would've been perfect for him to react to. There are plenty of survival games out there that would've been better. They should have got an archeologist for Uncharted for obvious reasons. Bummer.

Not to knock the show, and certainly not the opinion of experts, but...wouldn't it make more sense to have a survivalist discuss a more relevant game like The Long Dark, or some other survival dependent title? And on another note...those racoon tails are drawing me in. 😵💫
lol you wanted a survival game then should have gone for How to Survive or some shit. Uncharted is action/adventure and the best one at that by far.
