  • On June 4, 1975 Warren S Pressler, WWI Aviator, was interviewed by George Dingledy as part of the Wabash Carnegie Public Library Oral History Program.
Warren Pressler served overseas in France during World War I as part of the 96th Aero Squardron specifically tasked with day bombardment of German lines and defenses. Flying the Breguet 14B.2 day bombardment plane, powered by a Renault motor, Pressler survived being shot down and returned home in 1919.
From 1970 to 1987 Wabash Carnegie Public Library and members of the community worked on an Oral History Project that interviewed multiple people in Wabash. These were recorded on cassette tapes, which were later converted to CD in 2006. In the library, we have CDs that are available to check out and transcripts of the interviews located in the genealogy area that are available to view in the library.
